The home teams didn’t do very well this week, going 5-6. There were a couple surprises:
- Michigan State beat Wisconsin in Madison on Tuesday. It wasn’t too surprising that MSU beat UW, but Wisconsin rarely loses at home, and they had already lost their previous home game to Iowa. Wisconsin never loses 2 home Big Ten games in a single season, much less 2 in a row.
- Penn State beat Purdue on Thursday. It didn’t look like PSU would win any Big Ten games this season, so to beat Purdue was quite a surprise, especially by 20 points.

There are several big games this week:
- Ohio State at Illinois on Tuesday. We’ll see if Illinois is for real.
- Wisconsin at Purdue on Thursday. Wisconsin can’t afford another loss this season.
- Indiana at Ohio State on Sunday. This is a battle for 2nd place.
