Minnesota lost at Illinois, 81-72 (2 overtimes)
Wisconsin won at Nebraska, 64-40
Wednesday (12/28/2011)
Northwestern lost at Ohio State, 87-54
Indiana lost at Michigan State, 80-65
Purdue won at Iowa, 79-76
Thursday (12/29/2011)
Penn State lost at Michigan, 71-53
Saturday (12/31/2011)
Iowa won at Wisconsin, 72-65
Michigan State won at Nebraska, 68-55
Illinois lost at Purdue, 75-60
Ohio State lost at Indiana, 74-70
Sunday (01/01/2012)
Minnesota lost at Michigan, 61-56
Penn State lost at Northwestern, 68-56
The home teams did pretty well this week, going 8-4. There were a couple surprises:
- Minnesota took Illinois into 2 overtimes on Tuesday in Champaign, before finally losing.
- Iowa beat Wisconsin in Madison on Saturday. Wisconsin rarely loses at home, and Iowa isn’t expected to be a contender this season, so this was one of the most surprising results in many years.
- Indiana beat Ohio State in Bloomington on Saturday. Indiana is expected to do well this season, but not this well.
