The Wolverines now return to East Lansing where they were smacked by the Spartans in Hoke’s first season, falling 28-14. The game on the field was not as close as the scoreboard indicated. Hoping for a boost, Michigan wore special uniforms. Unimpressed, the Michigan State defense proceeded to chase them back to Ann Arbor.

If not, questions will begin about whether Hoke is the right man for the job.
Michigan’s Defense Has Been Exposed by Indiana and Penn State
That defense had better improve against the pass or Michigan might find themselves in a few more offensive shootouts before the end of this season.
And every opponent remaining on their schedule plays better defense than Indiana.

Gardner, Gallon Answer Critics. Michigan Defense? Not so Much
Michigan roared back from last week’s disappointing four-overtime defeat at Penn State with a 63-47 victory over Indiana.
Quarterback Devin Gardner and wide receiver Jeremy Gallon both set records in a game in which the Wolverine offense put up 751 total yards and dominated time of possession.
