Yeah, it’s me, the “basketball guy”, back for more. It’s time for my annual attempt to predict how the University of Michigan’s football season is going to go.
Last Season (2025)
My Prediction: 10-2 (8-1 in Big Ten)
Actual Results: 9-3 (7-2 in Big Ten)
Comments: I got pretty close with last season’s predictions. I picked Michigan to lose to Oklahoma and Ohio State, and both of those predictions were correct. I didn’t see Michigan losing at USC, and they probably shouldn’t have lost.
This Season (2026)
My Prediction: 9-3 (7-2 in Big Ten)
Comments: This is another really tough season to predict. On the one hand, Michigan has a new coach and coaching staff, and lots of new players on the roster. On the other hand, I’m expecting big things from Bryce Underwood, so maybe…
I expect the defense to be good, and the offense to be improved from last season. I’m expecting the offense line to be improved, but still not great, the running game to be a little less effective than last season’s, and the passing game to be a little better than last season’s.
The three losses? The “O” teams: Oklahoma, Oregon, and Ohio State. Michigan might be able to sneak past Oklahoma, but Oregon and Ohio State look pretty tough.
Go Blue!
