Just creating this thread kinda as a spot to discuss this. Personally, I think this just the spineless NCAA trying to find the littlest things to discredit Harbaugh, but there is the latest report that they have evidence of this Stallions person purchasing tickets to 11 different schools that were Michigan future opponents.

Curious to what everyone else thinks.

There are just so many layers to this investigation that make no sense to me. Starting with the fact that this Stallions used his own credit card leaving a paper trail so easy to find??? If this were something that the program as a whole were knowingly going along with, don't you think someone might have asked about making sure there is no paper trail evidence that leads back to any staffer of the program??? This is why I totally feel like Stallions was a rogue operator in this.umflawolverine19 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 3:36 pm Just creating this thread kinda as a spot to discuss this. Next, there is the issue of the rule in question being broken. As far as I understand, the NCAA rule states that no paid staffer can attend opponent's games in-person. As far as I can tell, Scallions bought tickets for others to attend games and these were not paid staffers at UofM. Is this some gray area of the rule someone figured out to get around?
Lastly, there is the issue of poking the bear. This team was ALREADY laser focused on achieving their goals at hand this season. And now the NCAA is coming after them basically telling both the players and coaches that they aren't good enough to win certain games without cheating??? As if this team needed MORE motivation??? Sparty found out the hard way what poking the bear will do and Purdue will be the next to find out. And I think this whole thing has basically assured that Michigan will finish off 3 in a row over the suckeyes and their whiny coach this season!!!

What bothers me about this is that I wouldn't care if Ohio State or Alabama were doing this. Everybody does this to certain extent. People are just upset that Michigan is winning.
The people appalled by this are clueless. The reporting is making no attempt to put this in context.

The more I hear, I think this guy acted on his own. Anyone with a "manifesto" ain't right. I think this guy is just a huge Michigan fan that saw an opportunity to ingratiate himself to the coaching staff and somehow get a permanent job on staff. I think he did the stuff they are alleging that sounds super dumb - leaving a trail by purchasing the tickets on the team websites, paying with a credit card, using his personal venmo to pay people to go to the games. Then, he would take that information and make it seem like he was a genius signal reader to the defensive staff.
To all the people saying Michigan is cheating, Coach Prime put it best "if I steal your signal in baseball and I know a curve ball is coming, I got you. But in football, you can know a sweep is coming, but you still got to stop it."

Re: Spygate UM aka Harbaugh witch hunt
I'm going to break this down.
1) The football program under Jim Harbaugh brings in a ton of $$$ for Michigan.
2) The NCAA is a toothless joke.
3) The "crime" is equivalent to doing 5 over the speed limit.
4) 99% of Michigan fans and more importantly the big $$ donors are firmly in Jim's corner.
5) UM has access to great lawyers.
This is much ado about nothing.

True story!!! It's just annoying that every leak that has been written makes it look 1,000 X's worse than it actually is feeding into the narrative that this is some grand cheating scandal. At least the reality is that most fans outside of the delusional, frothing at the mouth buckeye fans see this for what it truly is... NOTHING!!!Blue_Leader wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 9:38 pm I'm going to break this down.

Sounds like the Big Ten coaches are jealous of U-M recent/current successful football seasons. They want immediate punishment.
