Michigan Season Thread: 2023 edition

"...Based upon a deathless loyalty to Michigan and all her ways; an enthusiasm that makes it second nature for Michigan Men to spread the gospel of their university to the world's distant outposts; a conviction that nowhere is there a better university, in any way, than this Michigan of ours."

There was a stretch there where I thought I’d never see Michigan in the National Championship game. And tonight, here we are.

I’ve been thinking about this game all day and what it means to be playing in it and I couldn’t help but think of this site a lot, and the posters I’ve interacted with for over 15 years. Guys like Scottsdale, TK, BuckeyeHater, and many many more. Most of whom don’t post here any more and that makes me sad. We have been craving this night for almost 30 years. We went through the dark times together and now we are 1 win away from being at the top of the mountain again.

We should be sharing this moment together yet most of us hardly post anymore-I’m just as guilty as anyone.

So here is to all the UMGoBlue posters who I have had the pleasure of arguing with, consoling with during tough losses, and celebrating with over the years.

Where ever you are know I’m thinking about you and knowing we are all going to be experiencing the exact same emotions at the same time all night long!

GO BLUE!!
Well said BHF. I have been trying to keep posting in here but it's just been a ghost town in here. Really sad to see all the regulars just disappear during the greatest season in Michigan Football History! This is actually my first time coming back here since my last post which I feel like was around The Game. Sadly, it is what I expected which is not much action after winning the Natty. Don't know what happened but I guess this place will never get back to what it was sadly...

IMO this site never recovered after we started talking about politics. The country is more divided than ever before in my lifetime. I blame it on one person which I will keep to myself but a hint is he looks like a pumpkin. National Champs baby Go Blue

Agreed. Unfortunately not even the bond of Michigan Football could bring us together I guess. Blind loyalty to a dictator wannabe is more important I guess...

This site survived Trump’s term just fine. Arguably it was at its zenith when politics was brought into it, kept the interest year around. And perhaps most importantly it was one of the few places where both sides openly discussed what was occurring. Which is incredibly rare these days. People have self segregated into their own political corners & refuse to even consider the other sides POV. Akin to a child sticking their fingers in their ears & screaming “LALALALA.”

Site admin clearly wanted an echo chamber as soon as Biden was elected because they couldn’t tolerate Biden being crushed here like Trump was. And goodness what a disaster it has been.

You can blame “Orange Man bad” if you like, but you’d be wrong. Censorship killed this site.

Unfortunately like Humpty Dumpty you are wrong. He created this mess we have with our country with lies, the Jan 6th attack on the capital and refusing to believe he lost the election even though he was told that many times. This site suffered with individuals that actually have faith in him and expressed their beliefs on this site. Was just too much to ignore. Good luck if he gets elected again cause you will need it and also our country. Hopefully he just loses and we never hear from him again but then again he will moan that the election was stolen. What a loser which he has been since 2016

The fact that you actually blame Donald Trump for the demise of a website dedicated to Michigan Football is mind boggling. And frankly disturbing.

TDS is real. Get yourself some help.

Yep that says it all in your own little world. No I don’t need help but you may want to look at yourself and see someone that can help you. Course you probably don’t have mirrors in your house do you? I think you sprayed some disinfectant inside of you after Humpty suggested that to combat Covid
