Was at game glad we won but was not overly impressed with the offense. Defense was great but wish Mike did not fall down!

I think this offense is what it is. They are never going to be a flashy point a minute offense like you're seeing out west with Udub or Oregon. That's just not in Harbaugh's DNA. He doesn't want to show up the opponent and he doesn't want to put anything on film for future opponents than he has to.Umgoblue14 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 8:35 am Was at game glad we won but was not overly impressed with the offense. I read an article on ESPN where Michigan is +107 in scoring over the first 3 quarters and they're -3 in the 4th meaning they have yet to score a 4th quarter td. They take their foot off the gas when they bring in the backups and just run out the clock. That's the M.O. Plus, the new clock rules also work against Michigan running up the score too much.

Re: Michigan Season Thread: 2023 edition
Well, that was by far the most COMPLETE game Michigan has played this season to date! I have to admit, I was a little bit nervous going into the weekend because there was a lot of talk amongst the national media putting the Wolverines on upset alert. But at the same time, knowing how Harbaugh relishes a challenge, and seeing Nebraska pumping their chests over having the nation's #1 rush defense along with their new QB leading the nation among rushing QB's, I just had a feeling Michigan would come out flexing themselves! And sure enough, 250+ yards rushing later by Michigan's offense and the Michigan defense holding the Nebraska QB to -2 yards rushing, I'd say they made their statement in a 45-7 thrashing of Nebraska in Lincoln!!!
It was nice to see the national media seemingly finally take notice of just how good Michigan has been so far this season. Especially on the defensive side of the football! Prior to Saturday the narrative seems to have been that Michigan has been relatively underwhelming vs inferior competition. My question is why is there the perception that Michigan is underwhelming? Because they're not covering spreads??? Heard a stat that Michigan has not opened the season 5-0 while scoring 31 or more points and winning by 24+ points in each game since the early 1900's!!! That doesn't signify dominance??? Or how about the fact that Michigan is giving up LESS THAN 5 ppg on defense!!! The defense has only given up 23 points TOTAL on the season and BG is the only team to score twice on the Michigan D with 2 measley fg's!!!
Now it's on to Minnesota in the Twin Cities where I am predicting something similar to what we saw in Lincoln. When I watched Minnesota v Nebraska in the opening week of the season, my immediate feelings were that NEITHER of those teams were big enough in the trenches to deal with Michigan's interior on both sides of the football. Nebraska proved me right on Saturday and I think Minnesota will be the next up to be abused by our lines on both sides of the football!!!

Damn! That interior D-line played so well I forgot Mason wasn't even playing?!?! Just what Michigan opponents want to see is MORE depth being added to the trenches for Michigan!!!

It just occurred to me that with Mark Dantonio in a coaching emiritus role with Sparty, UM is afforded one more Dantonio butt-kicking opportunity.

Here's to a couple Michigan players whispering in Jaylin Lucas' ear tomorrow about returning Kicks and Punts for the good guys next season.
