https://www.freep.com/story/news/invest ... 679703007/Michigan State hired an outside Title IX attorney to investigate the complaint. She finished her investigation in July. A formal hearing to determine whether Tucker violated the school’s policy banning sexual harassment and exploitation is scheduled for Oct. 5 and 6, during the Spartans’ bye week.
The stakes are high for everyone.
Tracy says Tucker is following through on a threat to ruin her career and reputation by painting her as a woman who mixes professional and personal relationships and files false reports. She fears he will undo her legacy.
Tucker, who signed one of the most lucrative contracts in college sports history two years ago, could lose out on the roughly $80 million he is owed if Michigan State fires him for cause, which would be a stunning fall from the elite ranks of college coaches.

Re: Trouble in Sparty Land
This is almost unbelievable!!! I mean, to be accused of sexual harassment is one thing, but to have your accuser be a former victim of rape and sexual harassment who was brought in to MSU to educate athletes on sexual harassment is something you couldn't make up if you tried to?!?!
Leave it to Sparty to make the unbelievable possible...
I mean, $80 million guaranteed wasn't enough to keep Tuck from comin'???? Pun intended...

I've been reading conflicting reports. Some stuff I see say Tucker has been fired aka "Tuck is going" where other things I've read says he's been suspended without pay. Anyone know which it actually is?

He hasn't been fired yet. He is currently suspended without pay. I think his firing is inevitable but probably won't happen until his hearing in October.umflawolverine19 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 3:09 pm I've been reading conflicting reports. His statement he released is a sign that Tuck won't be going away quietly though. MSU will probably have to end up writing him a pretty sizeable check to make him just go away quietly which he totally does NOT deserve!!!

He's trying his damndest to keep as much of that $80M as possible. He could go completely scorched earth. To include Harbaugh's name in an official statement shows the level of desperation.MattyGoBrew wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 8:40 am

The funny thing is, MSU is still going to probably be shelling out most, if not all or more than the $80 million they owed Tuck between settling with him to make him go away and also settling with Tracy!CraigRohsDad wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 11:01 pmHe's trying his damndest to keep as much of that $80M as possible. EAST LANSING — Michigan State University officially fired head football coach Mel Tucker on Wednesday.
In a letter released to the media, MSU athletic director Alan Haller notified Tucker to "terminate the Amended Employment Agreement, dated November 24, 2021."
The letter, dated for Wednesday, said that "(a)fter thoroughly reviewing your response dated September 25, 2023 ("the Response"), the University now terminates the Agreement for cause."
