But if the OC hire by Smart doesn't fit or use TEs much, that could affect it. I read that like other recent defensive Saban disciples, he needs to knock the OC out of the park.
Kids today aren't swayed by Michigan's use of the TE (or other schools for that matter). They're not that smart. It's not s knock on them, they just care about other stuff. EVERY coach is going to tell Nauta they will make him a focal point of the offense.

Ian Bunting looks pretty damn good to me so far. I'm excited to see what he can do with more reps. Maybe better hands than Butt, but needs to improve route running.
I think Butt will leave for the NFL but I agree, I think Bunting is Butt 2.0 so we should be good there. It's the only position with depth (go figure) so if we don't get Nauta I'm not going to lose a lot of sleep. Next man up.
It's going to come down to Michigan and Georgia . Nauta is orginally from Michigan and lived in Grandville growing up until his family moved to Florida. I wouldnt be suprised to see him pick Michigan because of how JH uses the TE in his offense . IMO its a lean toward MIchigan unless Kirby Smart pulls one off .
WolvyMike the only ties to Georgia are his parents and sister which now reside there near Athens . Other than that he has family ties in and around the Grand rapids area. The choice could go either way however after yesterdays interview it sounds like he wouldnt mind staying closer to his parents. Still a 50/50 shot here...
Florida has some really good All year around football programs and the academy he attended produces some really good talent. I believe they have over 25 D1 players on the roster.

Go Blue!!
The uniforms?
Michigan.
Go Blue!!
So, is that meant to say we are a distant 2nd in this race?
After seeing what Harbaugh did with Jake Butt, I'm confident he will find a capable TE who will fourish in this offense with our without Nauta...

Well, now that that's off the table, I am even less worried about whether or not we can sway Nauta...
Yep, pretty refreshing to say the least Matty and I was a little surprised. But obviously great news!
I'd still like to land Nauta. He could be the TE of the future. Could learn a lot from Jake
Nauta is really leaning more towards Michigan than GA fwiw . Thanks
Go Blue!!
Announcing this Saturday.
Go Blue!!
I'd be surprised if he didn't pick Georgia.
Go Blue!
Not losing any sleep on this one either...

How come people keep saying he'll pick Georgia because it's "closer to home." Where are his Georgia ties?
I thought that he loved Georgia because of Coach Richt, who is now gone. However, this is an $EC team......
Go Blue.

I see. So his parents and sister live in Georgia, but he's been playing HS football in Florida? I don't really get that.
Go Blue!!

Going to GA!
