I still don't think Harbaugh is the next HC, but there certainly seems to be more smoke this time around as opposed to 4 years ago...
Go Blue!!
I agree. I'm not sure I fully understand why Harbaugh isn't available until the end of December. If his players and owners hate him so much, and they want him out - why wouldn't he just step down now and start picking out a home in Ann Arbor today? Why wait until the end of the NFL regular season? It seems to me this could be done immediately in a mutually beneficial way in San Francisco.
John Clayton just said on ESPN radio in Chicago that it's pretty well known that Harbaugh has told Michigan he's not going there.
Go Blue!!
ESPN is playing right into the hands of Michigan. Just like the Mike and Mike show did this morning @ Duke's Cutcliffe. As someone pointed out, they are now in the business of making news as well as reporting it.
The longer this goes the better the chance UM lands him....
Everybody has said that way too often so it's either true or a great big smokescreen! I tend to think it's true, although I thinks he's crazy to take the Raider job, he must love the Bay Area.
I think the Raiders are going to be good in about 2 years. Carr is for real at QB. Has some nice veterans (Woodley, Woodson, Tuck) and young talent (Mack and Carr) to build around. The biggest questions with the Raiders are Jr. Davis and are they going to remain in Oaktown

IF true, WHY doesn't he just announce publicly that he is NOT coming to Michigan. I think his feelings toward UM are strong enough that he would handle it that way.
Every Joe Blowhard is throwing names up to make a news story and see what sticks. It's like I could go to the Coney Island next to any newspaper building and mention a head coach and Michigan in the same sentence, and within minutes, there will be a story online saying "sources confirm Coach X has been contacted regarding the Michigan job....."
It's a summation of journalistic integrity and accountability these days. It is in the toilet.

which is too bad for him if the Raiders move back to L.A.

I just sat in a meeting with the group that's building the satdium and this is a VERY real possibility. The new stadium in LA is back on again and the Raiders and Chargers are the two favorites.

I also heard that at least one of those teams might make the move before the new stadium is open. Have you heard anything along those lines out there?
Back on topic: IF, as rumored, JH has a strong preference to stay in the Bay area, I would think that the Raiders job losses whatever appeal it may have had for him. Of course, if the David Shaw to Michigan rumor comes true, Jimmy can get his Stanford job back!
oh come on Swoosh. You have to give us more than that.......LOL. I'll take a private message when you get time.
Bob was a hell of a hockey player at Yale.
Bob went to Yale and then Harvard Law, there was no way I was getting a straight answers out of him. Which is why it was interesting, I tried hard to get info out of him.
I really think we are going to get him. Gregg Henson said Harbaugh's wife sees the "love" Michigan has for Jim and is in to relocate to Ann Arbor. I know some of you don't put a lot of stock in what he says but he has been right on target so far.
