Still love Harbaugh’s concept of a 1-time transfer waiver to all. Why some kids get a blessing and some have to wait a year at the NCAA’s seemingly arbitrary discretion is ridiculous.
I don’t blame any kid looking out for themselves. Imagine if the season had gone on and McGrone hadn’t had game action to prove his ability. He had an honorable mention for all B1G. Perhaps he’d be in the portal.
There can’t be a consequence free transfer system. Far too much potential for abuse. But I agree 100% sitting some kids for a year & others not at all completely arbitrarily is asinine.
Make the 1st transfer come with a 3 conference game suspension no exceptions, the 2nd time a kid transfers is a 6 conference game suspension no exceptions & the 3rd a year suspension no exceptions. And be done with non-sense.
Yep. I guess the writing was on the wall, but I don't get it. Black was the #1 deep threat in 2017 before he got hurt, missed so much time and then barely got any looks once he got back in the lineup in 2019.
Wish him the best. Lots of potential, but also signs that even 3 years in he wasn’t doing the little things to rise to the top. Easy to cherry pick his third down routes not getting to the sticks, and the subsequent Gattis fire sent his way.
I’m curious though, if he thinks Collins and DPJ are leaving, why would he skate on the chance and opportunity to do whatever he can to be the best? Seems like a great opportunity thrown away.
Definitely wish Shea all the best. It may take some time for some to look back on his time here fondly.
I for one will give the kid some props. 19 wins in two seasons, is pretty good. But he was unable to put the team on his back in some big games and that will haunt his legacy.
Losses: ND, OSU, FL, Wisc., PSU, OSU...
Nice record in the Big House, less his most important game.

It's hard to overlook all of the self inflicted mistakes he made in his biggest games that kept this team from getting over the hump. Sure, he won 19 games but it's the costly mistakes he made in The Game that will tarnish his legacy.
I for one am ready to move on from the Shea Patterson era and can't wait to see who emerges as our next starter between Joe Milton and Dylan McCaffrey!!!
Not arguing he couldn’t beat Ohio State but I’m wondering what costly mistakes he made? Both games the defense got obliterated so nothing he did really cost us.
It’s not like the 2016 game where Speight cost us majorly.

How bout that #5 class that everyone uses as the reason we should beat OSU.
