New MSU lawsuit filed today. Claims in 2015 that a woman who was at MSU studying to become a Sports Journalist was raped by 3 MSU basketball players the weekend after MSU's final 4 loss to Duke. She was told to get examined and tested for STD but upon the councelor finding out involved MSU basketball players was told that she didn't want to do this and the negative media attention would go against her and that if she reported it she would "swimming with some real big fish"
She later checked into a Psyc hospital and withdrew from classes for the year. She did return to MSU and is a current student now (all 3 of the players who are unnamed in the report are no longer at MSU)
Exact quotes from the Lawsuit.
The MSUCC staff made it clear to Plaintiff that if she chose to notify the police, she faced an uphill battle that would create anxiety and unwanted media attention and publicity as had happened with many other female students who were sexually assaulted by well-known athletes.
Plaintiff was told by the MSUCC staff that they had seen a lot of these
cases with “guys with big names” and the best thing to do is to “just
get yourself better” implying
to the Plaintiff that it would not be in the Plaintiff’s best interest
to report the incident
to law enforcement
When are we reaching a Death Penalty for the whole school level? cause this is starting to get worse than Baylor.
