Michigan athletics staffer bit lab technician after suspected drunk driving arrest

A University of Michigan athletic department staffer threatened officers after being found standing in a snowbank without shoes prior to an arrest on suspicion of drunk driving in Ann Arbor last week.

Fergus Connolly, who spent last season as Michigan football’s director of performance science/director of operations, attempted to bite a lab technician and told a police officer he would “put him in a wheelchair” while being detained, per a police report obtained by the Free Press.

...Though Connolly is still an employee inside Michigan’s athletic department, he has not worked with the football program since it returned from its trip to the Outback Bowl in Florida on Jan. 1.
