After LSU's Monday evening bowl practice, the Tigers' coach addressed persistent rumors that he will return to his alma mater, where he played under Bo Schembechler and spent a decade as an assistant coach.

Miles refused to be quoted on the record in the post-practice chat with reporters, but he sent a clear message: A return to Ann Arbor is not going to happen. He and his agent, George Bass, have not heard from Michigan, Miles said, and he would not change jobs even if Michigan made contact.

Miles also has told LSU athletic officials that he has not been contacted by Michigan and that he has no intention of leaving the Tigers, LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette said.[/quote]

Refused to be quoted on the record? Hmm...gives him an out.

Go Blue!!

  • Considering he`ll likely get canned if he doesn't win 10+ games next year he'd be smart to bolt if Michigan comes calling. He's in a VERY different position leverage wise than he was the last 2 times.
  • The funny thing about this whole search is the only person who is staying quiet is Harbaugh. Everyone else is denying everything. Every day I start to believe more and more that Harbaugh will be the next coach. 8years 49million rumor sounds just about right.

Agents and coaches are leveraging the Michigan job into extensions . Happens every year

    Go Blue!!
  • Seems to be the only thing were really strong at anymore, leveraging $$$ for other coaches.....lol

Hmm.  Nobody really asked you Les.  The fact is, if he were offered today he'd "walk to Michigan" just like Hoke.  Of course, he'd get here a little quicker but still.  He's still the best #2 choice in my book though.
