I have been pretty solid for the better part of the last 45-60 days that JH was going to replace BH as the next Michigan HC. With that said, I am more than a little concerned that to seal the deal it is taking UM brass and the search firm to travel to CA and have a sit down with him. Still crossing my fingers…...
What makes you think they're doing that to "seal the deal"?
What other reason would the brass at Michigan and the recruiting firm it hired for a coaching search be traveling out to the Bay area? Big fans of Clam Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl or maybe they are just chomping at the bit to watch the Niners lose a meaningless game. Thoughts?
Hmmmm, maybe, just maybe, they're there to pick him up after the game tomorrow?
I've said it a few times, but it begs repeating that Jim Hacket has done an incredible job of steering this coaching search. His playbook in how information was kept under wraps and also strategically released was executed perfectly.
Granted the formalities have yet to be completed, but I will always appreciate what Hacket has done.
Thanks Jim for bringing this dream of Jim Harbaugh coming home (very close) to reality.
Will anyone join me in giving Adam shelfer a big middle finger for being so wrong about this situation. Freakin hate that guy
He did this on purpose to cover Jims ass from all the media crap unlike Kirk Herbstreet who F'd us with his big blabber mouth about Miles. My hats Off to Adam for keeping espn off the story for so long.

Loving the memes, and the smack talk that is already being started. It will be a great day, when the coaching speculation forum goes dark. It will be the end of a long, and oft-lonely journey for me.
During the halftime of the 2003 Little Brown Jug contest, I first made my call for JH to come into the UM coaching fold. I endured the ridicule and scorn.
In 2007, I still endured it, albeit a bit less, but it seemed like we had a good idea...
In 2010, I was dismissed as overly optimistic, but my vision began to be recognized, nonetheless.
I have waited 11 years and 2 months. What is another day?
....so Adam, you seem to insinuate that they're planning on drugging them and throwing them in a plane against their will. Sorry, but I don't believe for a minute that he's been "holding back" a story for the sake of his alma mater. I think he's just as dumbfounded as the rest of these NFL elitists that can't fathom that anyone would ever want to leave the almighty NFL.
Looking at the list of potential position and assistant coaches umgoblue listed makes me giddy - nothing like lots of guys with NFL experience. And no offense to Freddie J but the time has come for him to walk off into the sunset.
Who knows what the timeline will be for Harbaugh, but this is the life cycle of a college football power that has been down too long and finally got the coach it needed for a revival. This is not Florida hiring Jim McElwain and hoping it works out. This is the winningest program of all-time with one of the greatest brands in college sports hiring one of the 10 best coaches in all of football. Winter may be a little colder in Ann Arbor than anywhere in the SEC, but that sells, baby.
Let's be clear. Michigan is in a rebuild phase. I think many of the kids Hoke & co brought in were/are over rated.
A strong coaching staff can put a band aid on it until Harbaugh has his kids in place.
One thing is for sure I fully expect the QB play to be MUCH better. I wonder if like at Stanford if Harbaugh will also coach the QB's?

Per a league source - "Just got word that the Michigan plane is here to take him and his wife to Ann Arbor on Monday." Here = San Francisco.

Plan is for Jim Harbaugh to be at [link=https://twitter.com/hashtag/Michigan?src=hash]#Michigan[/link] home basketball game Tuesday vs Illinois.
Crowd is going to be wild at that game
OC. Greg Roman
RB/Assoc HC. Ty Wheatley
WR Ronald Curry
OL. Andy Moeller
DC/LB. DJ Durkin
DL. Greg Matison
OLB. Roy Manning
DB Greg Jackson
A double finger from me
Lucky for us, they don't get a vote.
Go Blue!!
Jim Harbaugh and 49ers have mutually parted ways, per source.
Really? A reporter who did not want the scope?
