Yesterday's edition of The Game certainly had many memorable moments. But, one of the most memorable took place before The Game even began.
Grant Reed, the young devoted Ohio fan who nicknamed his cancerous tumor "Michigan" in order to fight it with everything he had, had finally made it to the Big House. As the personal guest of the Michigan Head Coach.
Earlier this year, Coach Hoke heard about Grant's story, and without hesitation, immediately called him personally to encourage him to "keep beating Michigan" and invite he and his entire family to watch The Game in Ann Arbor to honor his bravery and his courageous fight.
And yesterday, he and Coach finally got to meet face to face - creating another aMAIZEing Michigan moment that you won't want to miss: http://www.nbc4i.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=9586969
No matter the colors we may wear and team we may support, we can all come together and show that life is so much bigger than any rivalry. And I love that we have a coach who lives this daily.
Thank you, Coach Hoke. You epitomize so much of what is The Michigan Difference.
And to Grant Reed: KEEP ON FIGHTING TO BEAT MICHIGAN! The Wolverine faithful are and will always be behind you.
A follow up to the boy in Columbus fighting the brain tumor that he named Michigan.
