Bad thing is, Beamer may not be around too much longer. Lefty could be setting himself up for more instability. The results last season at Auburn certain gives pause. I'st just a year but one hell of a bad one.

I really hope he does well there. I would love to see him back in Ann Arbor one day.

Talked to a family member who is close to the program and signs indicate that Thomas will be returning.  VT's offense has historically underperformed during Stinespring's tenure.  They have won a majority of their games with very, very solid defense (Bud Foster) and special teams.  Loeffler does not have a snowballs chance in hell at scoring the HC job once Beamer retires, it is Foster's job.  He does have a very good chance to take an offense that was in shambles to one that is capable of winning the ACC comfortably.  All the tools are there for someone to succeed plus the VT community has been screaming for Stinespring to be fired for years so they are excited for some new blood.

It should be Foster's job. He's turned down a lot of schools to remain at Tech.

Beamer is like Carr, he's old school and is more of the program manager at this point in his career. He'll allow Scot to do whatever he wants and frankly, VT had never been known for an explosive offense so the expectations aren't as crazy as they were at Auburn. Good luck Lefty.
