I may be alone here, but I don't care really.  I think it's silly to take another OL for this class unless he's a fantastic Center.  Otherwise, why waste the scholly when we already have 5 in this class and 5/6 in the last class.  I would think that 5 OL per class is sufficient, especially given the level of talent we've successfully recruited the last 2 years and are sure to continue into the future.  Use the scholly on another receiver or a DT, that's where we need it most.

We only took four o-linemen last year and the numbers on the roster are still down from where they should be. Taking a 6th o-lineman is smart. Also, we arguably have the best interior o-line/center prospect in the country in this class already in Patrick Kugler:

We have plenty of room to take another DT. A sixth o-lineman would have zero affect on that. Jaynard Bostwick is tentatively scheduled to visit on January the 18th and holds an offer from Michigan...

I was counting AJ Williams, but I suppose that technically, he doesn't count.  I get that our numbers are down, but I don't see how overloading any particular class is going to fix that, as these kids won't make it on the field until their 2nd year at the earliest anyway, and almost all of them will redshirt.  To me, it makes more sense to build depth over 5 years, rather than 2, otherwise you just create a logjam of underclassmen.  Plus, the more we sign this year, may be a determining factor on whether or not we land next year's Patrick Kugler.  I still think it should be 5 each year. But thanks for citing sources, you don't see a lot of that on here these days, as a lot of posters like to just shoot from the hip.

No problemo. The coaches seem hell bent on keeping AJ Williams at TE per his request. Not sure if that's the smart move for him (it's not, imho), but, it's where he wants to play.

I think you grab all the OL/DL you can because that's where games are won and lost. Also, the coaches might take an OL recruit and move him to DL or vice versa (i.e. Steve Hutchinson). If we have the room, pick'em up and sort it out later. Injuries, redshirts, attrition all happen so better to have more than less.

I agree with Scottsdale, another OL would be a good thing. But, I would prefer at least one true DT...NT or 3 tech. and of course Green...

I feel that way about the D-line. We`ll have options on the OL.

Why can't an OL that is not good enough to play switch to the Defensive side of the ball.  Look at Q. Washington, he is pretty good.
