Why would any legit TE consider Michigan? Borges has no clue how to utilize a TE. We have a good one right now but we may never know how good he can be.

TK23Blue Why would any legit TE consider Michigan? Borges has no clue how to utilize a TE. We have a good one right now but we may never know how good he can be. He had a stud at SDSU Gavin Escobar (who just declared for the NFL draft). Kid finished the year with 29 catches and a little over 300yds under Borges. Numbers spiked after Borges left and he`ll likely be the the 3rd TE off the board in April. It's like he forgets that guys exist. Fuchess only had 2 multi-catch games this season, all under Denard. He didn't catch more than one pass once Devin took over and was rarely even targeted. Why I don't buy the "it's a personnel issue" argument. We don't effectively use the personnel we have on hand.

Borges needs to watch the Pats Offense to learn how to utlize the TE. Go Blue!!

There is no excuse for Borges when it comes to him underutilizing TE's, especially when he has a weapon like Funchess at his disposal! Look at the NFL! As Scottsdale mentioned, the Pats have not one, but TWO great TE's that create HUGE mismatches for opposing defenses. ATL has Gonzalez, Dallas has Whitten, SD has Gates, SF has Davis, NO has Graham, etc, etc. He has plenty of film to look at from NFL teams on how to not only get the TE's involved in his offense, but how to make them your featured offensive weapon! Funchess is BY FAR the best weapon we have returning on offense and if Borges can't figure out a way to make him WAY more involved in this offense, my already waning patience with him will be waning even more!
GO BLUE!!!

Is there someone else you guys would like for that single TE spot for 2014? Or does Nic fit the bill for those players we have a chance with...

Likely taking two tight ends again in 14.

Oh ok, thats cool. I doubt Luatua comes, seeing as he is a lifelong Trojans fan. That fellow from Jersey (Bergan Catholic) would be a fabulous addition along with Weishar. Yes indeed.

Ah, Bergan Catholic, home of one of the biggest misses in Michigan recruiting in recent memory. I'll leave that story to MF4L tho

No more TE's for us. We're good now. It's a relatively small class as of now. 3 WR's, 1 TE for us.
