Long ways away....but obviously nice to be in the driver's seat. Does Thomas influence where Dunn goes or does Dunn influence where Thomas goes?
Go Blue!!
It's been said that Dunn and Thomas are very close to each other.
That being said, it is a very long ways away. He has said on a couple of occassions that UM is his leader and he really likes it here. The problem with Dunn is he wants to wait until OSU gets their sanctions. It may also matter on who OSU gets as head coach at the end of the year. It's been said by a couple of guys that if Fickell doesn't come back, then they will probably look elsewhere. One of those guys being 5 star OT Kyle Kalis. So as much as OSU is already taking a hit on the recruiting trail, they are going to be taking an even bigger hit if Fickell somehow doesn't produce enough wins to come back next season. Dwayne Stanford has said that if OSU gets a new coach (even if it's Urban Meyer) then it'll basically eliminate OSU because he'll have too much of a bond with coaches from other schools.
Now back to Dunn, he'll wait it out and see what the sanctions are. The only problem I see is if a Marshall or Garmon commits before the sanctions because then that would mean we don't get Dunn.
Here's my opinion. I think if Dunn commits to Michigan, then Michigan is in the driver's seat for Thomas. They would be the clear cut favorite and Thomas may commit relatively early in the process. Now, say Dunn stays at OSU, then it'll definitely increase their chances with Thomas and it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. In that scenario, I would think that Thomas would decide way later in the process.
My opinion is that if Garmon or Marshall do NOT commit to Michigan, Dunn will be blue. He's keeping it very close to the vest right now after comments made before about Michigan because he got ridiculed so badly. He would also be one of the top backs on this team from day 1 compared to OSU where he may not get a whole lot of PT for 2 years. It's obvious he likes Michigan and if he commits to Michigan, then look for Thomas to be Blue. If Dunn commits elsewhere, then we'll be in a dog fight for Thomas.
