His first 40 time was 4.34. Didn't get off the block very well in his second attempt.

I said 3 years ago that the 2010 class was terrible in terms of Michigan standards. Of course I was called out by the "spread gurus" on here. I remember someone saying that I would eat crow and that we can't judge a class until 3+ years later.

You mean that class that was the heart of the team that won our first BCS Bowl game since Brady was QB here?

I'll bite.. While the 09 and 08 classes were the heart of the 2011 team, your a ways off if you think the 2010 class had much to do with that. Lets break down the 2011 starters by class..

QB- Denard Robinson- 09
RB- Fitz- 09
LT- Lewan- 09
LG- Schofield- 09
C- Molk- 07
RG- Omameh- 08
RT- Huyge- 07
TE- Koger- 08
WR- Hemingway- 06
WR- Roundtree- 08
WR- Gallon- 09

The only other player who got much playing time was Drew Dileo (10) so we have one 2010 player in the rotation here.

Defense
DE- Roh- 09
DT- Martin- 08
DT- Van Bergen- 07
DE- Black/Clark/Beyer/Brink- 10/11/11
OLB- Ryan- 10
OLB- Morgan- 11
MLB- Demens- 08
CB- Floyd- 08
CB- Countess- 11
FS- Gordon- 09
SS- Kovacs- 08 walk on
Nickel- Avery- 10
K- Gibbons- 09
P Hagerup- 10

So on defense we have one starter, and two rotational players from the 2010 class. That brings the grand total to 1 starter, 1 specialist, and 3 rotational players on the 2011 Sugar Bowl winning team. Hardly the heart of the team...

If we fast forward to 2012 we see much of the same trend. Dileo and Gardner on offense, with Ryan, Black, and Avery on defense. And for 2013 when the 2010s are all upper classmen its exactly the same as 2012, aside from maybe Marvin Robinson breaking into the lineup at SS. Of 27 players in the 2010 class, only 11 remain on the team. That is absolutely awful. Bottom line, while the 2010 class produced a few solid starters and two impact players (Gardner and Ryan), the class as a whole was awful and probably the worst we have had at Michigan in quite some time.

It was my fault for skimming the post, I only payed attention to where he said 2009 in the first part of his post. As far as the 2010 class goes, I think we have (will) get as much out of them as we got out of the 2007, 2005, and 2002 classes. So I still do not feel that class was totally awful, what sucks about it was the inability to retain many of those players.

I seriously doubt Gardner will go pro after this season (pretty sure he is getting the medical redshirt?) plus he needs another full year under center. That is unless he has a Heisman/NC caliber year, which I would not complain!

Well next year we'll have Lewan and Gallon for sure.

Then throw in Gardner, Schofield, Washington, Ryan, and Toussaint as other possible candidates.

Imho, QWash & Gallon are borderline. They'll probably have to have strong showings at the Senior Bowl in order to earn invites to the combine. Ryan will return for a fifth season. As it stands right now, he's a tweener without a true position in the NFL.

Lewan, Schofield and (likely)Gardner are definite invites.

Well, it is what it is....Thats the current state of our team unfortunately. Lets see how many get invited in 3 years from now. Its gonna take time to cycle through the currently crop of studs we are getting now. Oh well.
