The whole thing REEKS of Carr. He's another one that just can't go away.

If LC was still working there, I'd agree but he's not. Brandon has gone out of his way clear out a lot of people with ties to past. About 2/3 of the AD staff has turned over with practically no retreads of note. I know of a few qualified candidates who LC did put a word in for, who were passed over for other people.

This hire completely baffles me.

Brandon makes a big deal about "talent management" which is the trendy title for HR. He goes on and about finding the right people for positions, doing national searches, etc. And then he hires a former college and pro football coach to help oversee Olympic sports.

Debord was the most qualified candidate? I find that hard to believe.

If John Falk needed an assistant to fold towels, I'd consider Debord to be a prime candidate but this is a stretch.

When LC retired, Debord sincerely (deludedly) believed he was the best candidate to be Michigan Head Football Coach. I don't see how somebody that clueless doesn't end up causing trouble.

'DeBord' and 'Michigan' should never be in the same sentence ever. Can't this guy find something else to do? A greeter at Walmart or maybe Carr's lawn boy? Something? Anything! Just when I thought we ditched this clown in the rearview mirror, here he comes again. And please, let's not bring up Cam Cameron or he'll be the next retread we recycle.

While I didn't appreciate DeBord as an offensive coordinator, I do believe that he was a very good offensive line coach at Michigan. He was also recognized as one of the best (if not the best) recruiters on Carr's coaching staff.

I don't want him, Stan Parrish, Andy Moeller or any of the old guard anywhere near a Michigan sideline in ANY capacity. Let's not forget how Debord got his start the 2nd time around........"Special teams coach."

Ferrigno isn't going anywhere. He and Hoke go way back. You guys are making a mountain out of a molehill.

You miss my point. I`m not saying Hoke will let people go to bring Debord on. If someone leaves (for whatever reason) and Mike Debord is just hanging around the program the temptation will be just to go with an easy, known commodity. Just what happened at Ball State with Stan Parrish.

Debord is too f**king close.

I don't think that's really a fair comparison. Hoke and Parrish were and are close friends. I'm not sure that's the case with DeBord. I think if anything were to happen at the OC position, there's a much better chance that Cam Cameron would be the guy who Hoke targeted than DeBord.

Wonder why swimming not included on that list? Not that I care, because Michigan swimming is top notch and there is no need for DeBored to have the chance screw things up there...
