Big Ten is 3-0 thus far

Rutgers beat Washington State
Minnesota beat Eastern Illinois
Michigan State beat Jacksonville state

7-0 Penn State so far. UCF got called for roughing the kicker which extended PSU's first drive.

I think Rutgers is better than Purdue...and maybe Illinois...and most years Indiana.

In the battle of atrocious offensive lines, PSU leads UCF 10-3 at the half.

PSU coaching staff is loading up the box now as the UCF QB cannot hit any receiver whatsoever.

Hackenburg looks good when he has time, but he has faced quite a bit of pressure. He's gonna get hit a lot...and I mean A LOT this year if this Oline doesn't improve. This kid would be, or is, a helluva talent back there at QB, but his Oline is atrocious and his receivers are average (outside of Jesse James).

I agree and while WSU isn't great, they are better under Leach than they were for several years before.  Also Rutgers is way east.  Teams in the midwest don't seem to enjoy going west, but Rutgers comported themselves pretty well.  I'm not sure I'd feel confident about UM opening up in Pullman this season.

PSU-UCF had an exciting 2nd half.

UCF with the QB change after halftime to add some life to UCF.

PSU wins 26-24 on a GW FG as time expires.

Well a couple of Big Ten teams survive scares.

OSU survives Navy
Illinois survives YSU
Iowa survives Northern Iowa

Purdue in a fight right now and Indiana not looking like the offensive juggernaut right now against Indiana State.

Highlight of the Purdue game

osu went as I expected.  Tight early with osu pulling away late.  osu gave up a ton of rushing yards though.  Granted it was against the unique triple option, but still.

Big Ten 10-0 now

good start for the conference, but obviously the only game that matters this week in the perception of the conference is the LSU-Wisconsin game.

Rutgers running attack with Paul James is good ... that could be a much tougher game than expected.

The only thing that makes it tough to me is the fact we play them on the road at night. Rutgers is always tougher at night.

I don't know though. I really think this team is good though. I don't think they'll be bluffing this time after they beat ND next week. I think between the more aggressive defense and the improved (it may not be vastly improved, but even slightly improved) offensive line, this team is really good.

I hope you're right, and thought the pass d looked much improved with the tighter coverage and good pressure on the qb, but I'm sure the Rutgers o-line is bigger and better than App St's, and App St had more success running the ball than they should have, imo.  I'm expecting a tough game, especially at night in NJ ... but first we'll see how it goes at night in South Bend.

Coaches let off the gas with the game plan and I wouldn't expect that to happen in South Bend or any other B10 game.

I would expect more player makers on offense to be involved and more pressure from the D next weekend.

Looks like Northwestern is going to be horrible this year. For those that thought otherwise looks like you can mark that game down as a win.

I'll just throw this in this topic instead of starting up a new topic

This is the preseason top 10 at the moment

1. FSU- Later game
2. Bama- Tied at 10 vs WVU midway through 2nd quarter
3. Oregon- Later
4. Oklahoma- Later game
5. Ohio State- Win vs Navy (struggled until the 4th quarter)
6. Auburn- Up 14-7 on 3 win Arkansas right now
7. UCLA- Win vs Virginia 28-20 (struggled mightily on offense. 2 Defensive TD's)
8. Michigan State- Blowout win vs Jacksonville State
9. South Carolina- Loss vs A&M (GOT SPANKED AT HOME!)
10. Baylor- Later game

Top 10 not looking too hot right now. I wouldn't be surprised if A&M was in top 10 next week. Even though MSU played Jacksonville State, I could see them moving up to 5. If Oregon takes care of business, they could hype up a top 5 matchup next week. And really, I see no problem with moving them up. OSU Oline looks pathetic. UCLA looked overrated and I think Auburn lost too much.

WVU is going to drop this game because of drops. The last 2 drives each had huge drops by their wide outs...one ended in a missed FG and this one ended with a FG. 27-20 Bama

30-23 Bama. WVU just blew another TD. First and goal inside the 5. Missed a wide open fullback on first down, receiver dropped fade route on 2nd down, 3rd down snap goes over QB's head for a loss of 19, and they only get a FG out of it.

WVu couldnt beat bama and the refs today. WTF was the late hit on the QB out of bounds??? HOME COOKING right there that was on a critical 3rd down stop too. The penalty was a guy not even playing....LoL

Would be a big win for the Big 10 if Wisky can pull this off. I have my doubts about them the longer this game goes on though.

Me thinks Winston isn't gonna win the Heisman this season, no TDs and 2 picks in the first half.

Speaking of highly ranked RBs, Brionte Dunn was like the only Buckeye RB to not get a carry against Navy
