With kickoff this saturday lets share some of our good recipes for tailgating or cooking from home.

I'll be doing a brisket on coal - apple and cherry wood - grilled poppers with cream cheese/sausage mix stuffed on a half pepper - mahi tacos with fresh salsa verde - and of course yuengling ice cold beer on tap.

GO BLUE!

For ND Game: Brisket on coals with apple wood and either hickory or mesquite (my buddy does the smoking, so not sure), venison poppers (venison meat ran thru cuber then pounded out paper thin, marinate in Italian dressing, take half of jalapeño or use piece of sweet onion, place piece of mozz cheese with pepper or onion them wrap piece of venison over then wrap piece of bacon, secure with toothpick and cook over coals), heart attack Mac n Cheese, collard/mustard greens, and various dips and snacks. And of course, mixture of octoberfest and pumpkin beers. I LOVE THIS TIME OF THE YEAR!!!

I have an unhealthy relationship with food and this thread ain't helping matters.

I will probably swing by a local sausage house (definitely not a euphemism) on Saturday morning to pick up some of their cheddar brats and chicken enchilada sausage. Maybe do some kettle chips as well. I now have an old man's stomach and need to watch my beer intake, so it's either vodka, chronic or both.

I make my Famous Rage Dip...
Its a buffalo chicken dip with Ghost Pepper and Habanero peppers mixed in cream cheese with Tabasco sauce and dip tortilla chips in it! Washed down with a few Wolverine brews i brought home from my last trip to Ann Arbor.

This chronic that you speak of, is that like Dr. Dre's chronic?

Take aways from this thread thus far:
1.  SDB fuels himself with Makers, but we all knew that already.  FYI, I'll be running in the Bourbon Chase in October and the MM distillery is one of the major exchanges and I'm happy.
2.  We need to have a Gameday Food Forum on here, I bet we all could share some amazing football tailgate recipes.
3.  zjgm likes to visit the "sausage house" (which we all kinda knew that too) and even though he came up with some other explanation I think we all know what kinda "sausage" he was really speaking of.

It's the most wonderful time of the year...cheers and 3 more days!

Shocking reply!

I was going to post that I don't really have anything planned for my plate, but I'm planning to fill my glass with plenty of home brews as well as some Bloody Marys made with home made V8 juice from tomatoes from my garden!

Jacks and cokes all around. With stuffed peppers, chips and salsa, and possibly another hot chip dip for appetizers. Followed by burgers, brats, and baked beans. Might even give my wife the dutch oven that night if we blow out Appy State- she loves when I do that.

My girly wife loves some Allagash White with a splash of Strawberry Fruli, which is hands down the gayest sounding drink of all time.

Uneek, my man, you need to kill a bottle of Jameson to un-chick-ify yourself.   If you pull it off and video the journey you could become Youtube famous!

Is this what kind of service you get with the platinum level membership to your sausage house?

How the hell does drinking Allagash White make you need to 'un-chick-ify' yourself???

I would hands down take any craft beer with actual flavor over the watered down piss that Miller/Bud/Coors tries to pass off as beer...

Really wasn't so much the Allagash White I was making fun of, it's the addition of the Strawberry Fruli the old lady adds to the drink.  You start adding that to your adult beverage and we may have to pull your man card.

Settle down Matty it was a joke.  For the record, the only time I drink Miller/Bud/Coors is when I am trying to build the great pyramids of beer.  Which I may or may not have done in the last 12 months for ****s and giggles.....most time I am a New Belgium/Sam Adams/Smithwicks kinda guy.

I'm a beer snob so I get sensitive when it comes to people cracking on craft beers as if it's more manly to drink M/B/C than it is to drink craft beers?!

I homebrew and I had a friend who is a M/B/C Light drinker ask me if I knew how to make a clone of Budweiser and I told him yeah, it's easy.  You just fill up a bucket with water and then take a piss in it, add yeast and then wait a couple of weeks and viola, you have Budweiser...

The craze out west is IPA's.. I've never been into them. There's a local brewery here in AZ called 4 Peaks, and it's good beer, but I get such a terrible headache from the stuff it makes me not enjoy it. So just give me my Coors Light and I'll be on my way.

I like IPAs during the spring, the hoppiness of them just kinda fits the season.
Summer beers I go for Oberon, a nice hefeweizen, or Leinenkugel's Summer Wheat
During the early fall I go almost exclusively for Oktoberfest style beer before transitioning to pumpkin stouts in late October.
Winter time, Porters.

Like Matty, I am very snobby about my beer. And I usually say Budweiser is what you urinate after a night of drinking good beer.

Right there with you guys - and Maize, your lineup looks very similar to mine.  I tend to go more Belgian in the winter rather than porters though.  And I can take a good IPA anytime of the year as well.

I`m a duff man myself

For a night of drinking it's liquor all the time for me. Crown or Kraken is a good place to start. For a tailgate it's about getting as much alcohol in as fast as possible and what I don't mind spilling on the beer pong or flip cup table. Beer is just easier to tailgate with.

I`ll say this, went out to Oregon last fall to watch them play Tennessee and those people out there REALLY know how to throw a party. There are tons of breweries in the area and we drank everything from dark local beers to Irish Whiskey.

Needless to say there was a blackout at the end of night. People were nice as hell, paid for maybe 3 drinks the entire day and was forced to eat at least 3 different tailgates.

Bud light or Crown will do for me. I'll be spending most of this year's first game with my week old son so the usual morning tailgate at my house may be overtaken by changing diapers and some crying, but I'm excited for his first Michigan game!
