If it's any consolation, if he does have to miss this season, OSU is absolutely loaded next year and adding Miller at QB is icing on the cake. I think they have too many holes this year (young at LB, DB, and Oline) to make the playoff, with or without Miller.

kinda classless IMO.  i'm not gonna say it's good, but I'm not gonna cry either.  no buckeye fan cried for UM when henne couldn't feel his arm due to an injection hitting a nerve in his throwing arm, as well as hart being injured in 2007

it is what it is.  hope everything works out for him, but don't expect me to send flowers to the bucks

Young on the online? I'd trade lines in a split second (as long as funk can't touch them before they play)

Heisman candidate too. sucks when things like this happen to any player , because when the other team wins you want to do it knowing the other team has no excuses.

Unfortunate for Braxton. Some people are talking about a medical redshirt and him coming back next year. I really do not see that happening. Had he been healthy after the bowl game the ROTS was that he was heading to the NFL then.

A win is a win.  Don't care if they are "full strength" or not.  Plus, it's the end of the season by the time we play each other.  Most teams aren't "full strength" by then anyway.  And whoever their QB is will have had an entire season under his belt by then

Michigan fans, for the most part, are good sports.  Don't expect the same if a Wolverine star goes down from O$U fans.

I'm skeptical. Wouldn't put it past Urban Meyer to this being a publicity stunt. Even if he is injured now..... 99% chance he will play one game....THE game.

Can J.T. Barrett play QB?

I don't expect them to throw the ball much. The offense can maintain possession and minimize opponents possessions. Their defense is/was going to lead this team. The DL is stout which should mask inefficiencies in the back 7. How much is this really going to hurt them?

Go Blue!!

P.S. doesn't this sound familiar? Potentially stout D leading young, inexperienced offense...

How much is this really going to hurt them?

If he misses only a couple weeks, probably not much, but if he misses (most of) the season they go from being a top-5 team to top-25. It seems Miller was going to be most of their offense, so it's huge but I think Meyer is smart enough to adapt his offense to lessen the impact.

"The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Barrett has the weakest arm of the three top quarterbacks on the roster, and the coaching staff has had no problem admitting that because he makes up for it with above-average tools everywhere else across the board."

From espn's big ten blog this morning.

OSU's schedule is not tough though. If this was ND's schedule, then OSU would be lucky to be bowl eligible, but it's not. OSU becomes a huge underdog vs MSU, a possible underdog against us, and then who else?

The only troublesome part for OSU is that they replace 4 starters on the Oline, and have to replace Hyde. Defense will have to carry them this season (unless Miller comes back).

Half update: An Ohio State spokesman anticipates there will be an update on Braxton Miller this afternoon. Wouldn't say anything more.

Now here that Miller is indeed done for the season. Offical release should be coming anytime.

If he's done for the year then I predict he goes Pro next year and this is the last we see of Miller.  Happy trails and good riddance if so.

I surmise Barrett is more of a runner, so when is the last time a running QB at a major program made it through an entire season without getting injured?  So even if Barrett does everything else above-average, tOSU will probably find themselves using more than 1 guy.

The schedule is so weak they can still win 10 games.

I just pray they don't win 10 because then everyone is gonna have to hear how great they are even with all these new guys at important positions.

Nick Marshall just ran the table at Auburn without a scratch. Duel-threat QBs are no more injury prone than any other QB. Some pocket passer that can't escape the rush is just as likely to get tee'd off on and injured as a guy that runs a lot. Hell Miller was injured in a non-contact situation.

In the spread offense the QB has to be a playmaker or the entire thing falls apart. O$U isn't going to able to just lean on other people and ask the QB to do just enough. Whether as a passer or runner Barrett is going to have to play a huge role offensively. Plus 80% of O$U's rushing attack us out the door withe Hyde and Miller.

We have ZERO excuse for not winning now. If we can't beat them without their MVP we never will.
