Michigan Football: 7 Players to Watch in Wolverines' Spring Game - Thursday, April 03, 2014 10:07 PM

Hoke had announced the spring game will be more of an open practice and not a split-squad competition, but fans will be watching for signs that new offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier has improved the offense.

The disappointment of last season and the building pressure to win a Big Ten title has placed a spotlight on key players who will need to perform will if the team hopes to be a force in the Big Ten next season.

Most excited to see how the OL & DL performs, as a unit...but, individually, looking at RBs Derrick Green & De'Veon Smith, Amara Darboh at WR & Jake Ryan at MLB.

In my opinion, this needs to be a competition, and not run as a practice. We need some competitiveness and fire from the get go- why not start it in the Spring game.

On the other hand, I can understand not wanting to do so; given all of the spring related injuries that have popped up over the past few seasons.

In any event, I'll be there- GO BLUE!

Totally agree, uferfan...on both points!
