ANN ARBOR -- Michigan is in the market for a new director of football operations, according to a report.

Pete Roussel of CoachingSearch.com reported Monday that director of football operations Nolan Jones is no longer part of the team's staff.

A Michigan spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment late Monday night.

Jones was hired by Michigan last May to fill its open administrative role after former director of football operations Mike Vollmar left for a position at Tennessee.

Jones has also spent time as a director of operations at Southern Miss, Kentucky and Northwestern.

Typically, a director of football operations -- as a member of the program's support staff -- handles duties involving team travel, assisting in the organization of camps and clinics and various other day-to-day operations tasks inside the program.

Nolan Jones is in his first season as director of football operations at Michigan.
Jones comes to Ann Arbor with 11 years of experience in football operations. He most recently served a brief stint as assistant athletic director for football at the University of Southern Mississippi. He joined the Golden Eagles' staff in January following two seasons as director of football operations at the University of Kentucky.
Prior to Kentucky, Jones spent six years in the Big Ten, serving as director of football operations for five years and assistant director of football operations for one season at Northwestern.
At Kentucky and Northwestern, Jones coordinated the day-to-day internal and external operations for the football program and managed the travel schedule, annual budget and daily schedule for the entire support staff. He also directed the high school camps and coaching clinics, while serving as the liaison to NFL personnel. At Northwestern, he coordinated operations for three bowl game appearances and a 2010 game at Wrigley Field against Illinois.
Prior to his stint at Northwestern, Jones spent one season as director of football operations at Princeton University, where he coordinated the internal and external operations, including all logistical aspects of recruiting. He also served as the liaison for the football program to the athletic department and university.
Jones earned a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's degree in physical education with an emphasis in sport administration from Eastern Kentucky University. While at Eastern Kentucky, he also served as director of football operations and a graduate assistant coach during the 2003 season.

It doesn't look like they've posted the job yet, so you have some time to work on your resumes
