I know I haven't been posting much, but I am lurking.

I did want to pass along that Phil's father passed away today. Please keep their family in your thoughts and prayers. From someone who has been there, its good to know that people are praying for you.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him......may he rest in peace. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Vivat Jesus,

Condolences to Phil and his family of course, but I have to ask if we're sure he wants this information on the board since he didn't start this thread.

Keeping you in my prayers I lost my grandmother (basically mother she raised me since birth as a single parent and I was still living at home while going to school) in august. Was the reason that for the most part I wasn't around the forums for half of the games this season. So I can fully understand what you are going through and its not easy :(.

He had posted earlier about his father being in hospital and I saw his update via Facebook. I had zero intent of hurting anyone's feelings, I hope Phil would understand that.

Thanks everyone! Especially Bonne for letting my extended MEEECHIGAN family know!
It has been rough couple of days.

Early Sunday morning I got word that my Dad was rushed to the hospital. I was with him from around 1 PM on Sunday until Monday evening. After extensive tests it was determined that my Dad had developed severe internal cranial bleeding- he fell asleep and never woke up. He felt no pain. This was unrelated to the heart problems that he had last month, in the words of the doctors just a really bad break. We arranged for organ donation so that some families could be blessed through his passing.

I sincerely thank everyone here for your concern and well wishes. My Dad was the biggest influence on my life and the biggest Michigan fan in the world. Fortunately, when he had his heart attack I was able to have some long talks with him and say everything that needed to be said. He was my hero and I miss him terribly. The first thing I would do after games was talk to him about what happened.

There are still a lot of details to be worked out so please keep me and my family in your thoughts. I alternate between remembering the good times and regretting the things we didn't have time to do (AKA being a sobbing mess).

Sorry for your loss, Phil and Lance.   May God give you strength and courage to get through this difficult time.  Also, may He give you comfort and peace to cope with this in the weeks and months (and maybe even years) ahead.
See you in another life, brother.

So sorry for your loss Phil and Lance. I lost my dad unexpectedly 2 years ago and it was the roughest time of my life. But it does get easier. Just remember all of the fond memories and know he's in a better place.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...

Sorry for your loss Phil. I'll take some time with my kids to pray for you tonight, when I tuck them in and give them hugs and kisses. Nothing better than to hear your children pray for those that need it. We'll be thinking of you over the next few days, weeks, and months.

Great tribute to your dad, dang Phil he was young , not old enough to be my father! Losing a parent at any age is life changing yet 62 is way to early, once again prayers to your whole family through this difficult time.

Man he and I would've gotten along great with all the civil war and love for aviation! We lived near that air museum years ago when I was a kid. Sounds like a really great man and an even better father. Again, my condolences to you and yours.
