Starts out horribly can be subjective.

Starts out with a loss to Appy State he should be fired on the spot....but don't see that happening.

The worst I could see Michigan starting off would be 3-4 in their first 7 games. Should be no way Michigan loses to App State or Miami (OH). So that means 1 win among these 5 teams: Notre Dame, Minnesota, Rutgers, Utah ,and Penn State

They need to change the name of September to "Fools Gold" in Ann Arbor.

We are used to being out of the hunt in Sept every year, but our late season collapses as of late are just as bad.

Go Blue!!

Ohio St.'s actions are not unlike their lower intestine: stinky and loaded with danger.

Actually we're in the hunt after every September.

We finished Sept undefeated 4 of the past 6 years.

I kinda get the sense this team will be similar to 2006. No one saw that coming from that team. In 2005 the team was super young, finished 7-5, and lost a lot of close games. A lot of those games being by less than a TD.

I'm not saying the team will be as good defensively, but record wise, they may be as good.

With the 2014 road schedule, I just don't see it.  They should be able to win their home games--as that schedule's pretty soft--and the roadie in New Jersey, but that would bring them to 8, so they'd need three more road wins of ND, Sparty, NW, tOSU and a good team in bowl game if they enter bowl season with 10+ wins from a coaching staff who's 4-9 away from the Big House the last two seasons.

As far as the OP, no way does that happen.  If Brandon sits on his hands after what we just watched for 4 months, there is absolutely ZERO chance he will draw attention to his own incompetence by firing a HC mid-season.  Who worthy of any note would be available mid-season anyway?  Either somebody good who's been out of the game a while, or someone who can't even catch on as a coordinator somewhere.

Only until the last several years but the previous 25yrs it was a staple of this program to always lose a game in Sept. I'm glad we've turned that part around but what we've lost is the ability to win games in our conference.

I think the reason we've been able to end Sept undefeated on the regular of late is a function of scheduling. No more trips way out west in the early season. Just South Bend every other year to play another historical program whose best days are also decades past. Luckily, the Domers' decline was even more sharp than UM's, so Blue even escaped TD Jesus every once in awhile with a W.

Absolutely...it's not because we are a better team (we've actually regressed) it's more about our competition in Sept which has taken a nose dive from the days of traveling to Washington or UCLA, etc. on top of playing a better ND program than the one today.

Nothing we do in September matters at all if we can't complete in our own conference which we have failed to do for close to 10 years.

Few AD's have the stones to fire a coach mid season. USC did and it worked out well for them. I am wrought with anxiety that no changes are being made this year

Michigan football has become a third tier team in the Big Ten.  Keeping Hoke around another year is a slap in the face to the alumni and paying fans.  Hopefully they will wise up and stop giving money to the pizza man.  I'm done until something is changed.
