Worse game: v MAC or v K-State? - Sunday, December 29, 2013 2:15 PM

I've got to say the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl effort against Kansas State was a worse game than the Spartan game.  I wasn't expecting a win against Michigan State.  I was expecting Michigan State to out-physical the Wolverines and wear Michigan down in the second half.  I wasn't expecting Michigan to fold like a cheap tent in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't a complete surprise either.  The defense kept the game respectable into the fourth quarter until the offense left them out there a few too many times.

Now last night, that was just plain wrong.  Michigan had a month to rest and recuperate, but we got that?  Sure, Morris was the QB instead of Gardner, but shouldn't there be enough tools around him to help him out?   Last night was a total failure of coaching in every facet of the game.  Offense, defense, special teams--none of those coaches should be holding their heads high today.  And once again, Michigan can manage only a single touchdown in the game, that one being against K-State's second string late in the fourth quarter when the game was beyond doubt.  Not scoring a TD against MSU's #1 rated defense is understandable even if I don't like it.  Not scoring against a Big 12 defense?  Unacceptable.

Going for 2, down by 19 w/ under 90 seconds to go was the perfect example of how out of it the staff is.  Really?  12 points in 58+ minutes of play, but they will get the 2-point conversion, recover 3 onside kicks while scoring another 17 points, all in under 90 seconds.

It was almost like that play was a way for Borgenius to save face for himself after what he called when going for 2 against tOSU since apparently the entire Buckeye defense knew what was coming.  Where was that play in AA a month ago?

Same ol', same ol'.

Im sorry, didnt realize Morris was starting on Defense.....Whats their excuse? Morris played well enough to be competitive at least, with a competent defense that is.

The defense was atrocious (I still cannot believe Desmond Morgan is a starting LB.  That guy wouldn't even made the team in the 90's.) and have been for quite some time. They lead the world in 20+ yard plays and for that reason Mattison needs to be fired right along with the rest of them.
