Accountability goes both ways. Gardner has put his body and soul on the line for Michigan this season and paid a heavy price. After hearing him speak with the media following the Iowa and Ohio State games, he obviously holds himself accountable for Michigan’s losses.
But for Michigan to beat Ohio State and Michigan State next season, he needs to improve his game and start demanding the same accountability from his coaches.

Coaches?? This is an execution problem, not a coaching problem, remember? That's why we have 100% coaching staff coming back.

How about the o-line actually blocking and picking up the blitz. That might help a little.

I blame everyone. Coaches coach and players play. The coaches don't coach Gardner to circle around and take a 20yd sack; however, it's not the players fault Borges calls 5-7 step drops on a relentless front 7 pinning their ears back. Everyone needs to do their jobs better and if they don't change then they are telling us that last year was ok.

Go Blue!!

Ohio St.'s actions are not unlike their lower intestine: stinky and loaded with danger.

So your not blaming the kids who are on the field and not blocking. Did you even see # 75 get beat like a drum the whole season?

May be one of the players who have inquired about their draft stock. Hoke would not confirm or deny whether DG was one of them, which means he was. Sigh.

Rumors are swirling that DG might not be healthy for the bowl game and Shane might be getting the start?  Heard his injury might be more serious than we were originally led to believe?  Anyone else hearing these rumors and is there any truth to them?

all rumors right now.  Hoke said AGAIN at the presser today that Devin is still on crutches and resting "turf toe," but should be able to practice by the end of the week.

would not say if Devin is questionable just yet

but also said that he would be "comfortable" with Morris starting at this point.

also said Darboh and Johnson are progressing nicely after their ACL injuries.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the first I've heard anyone say Darboh had an ACL injury.  I thought it was always a foot injury.

Green, Smith, Fitz, Hayes all taking snaps at tailback

Blake Bars working at center

Gibbon questionable for the bowl game with muscle injury

Yeah. I thought Darboh's injury was a foot injury as well...

I good with Morris in the bowl game. I said I thought DG should go back to WR.

Some like to throw the "How about the ND game?" "What about his numbers vs Ohio?"

To that I say that was only 2 games. He did not do it the rest of the season.

He owns the 2 best single-game passing performances by a Mich QB in the school's 134 yr history.

He also just had the 2nd best-single season passing numbers in program history with 3,000 yds (60% completion) and 21TD's (only 4 off Mich's single season record of 25 by both Grbac and Henne). He threw a ton of picks early in the season, but only 1 INT in the last 6 games.

He did all this with absolutely NO offensive line while being sacked 34 times (for reference, Mich only gave up 36 sacks the previous 2 years combined).

And lastly, the kid could have easily packed it in, but he continuously fought, and fought hard, playing injured and showing he's a tough kid that can be a leader on this team moving forward.

He has all the physically tools to be a very good college QB, but can Borges develop him? Can he get some help from his OL? Help from the run game?

Moving Gardner to receiver would be dumber than many of Al Borges' play calls throughout the season.

I think somebody posted an injury related article about Darboh last week. It was a knee injury. I'm anxious to see morris, but I am very thankful to have a kid like DG on our team. Tough as nails that kid is!

Agree.  This thinking that we should put Morris in ahead of DG is ridiculous.  Gardner's biggest problem was a complete lack of confidence throwing the ball.  All the early picks got in his head and that's an X factor that can be impossible to overcome.  INT's are vastly overrated to begin with and I have no problem with my QB throwing some picks.  You have to have the confidence to throw the ball in a 2 foot window and without hesitation but you also need to have amnesia.  (perfect example is Matt Stafford.  He'll throw 4 picks but he'll keep throwing and you have to to succeed.)  If anyone needs more proof just look at what Gardner did the last 6 games: one pick.  And our record in those games?  Pi$$ poor so it had nothing to do with INT's.  This kid frustrated the hell out of me this year but given the circumstances and what he had to work with?  NO running game, average and under-sized receivers, (although Gallon certainly put up huge #'s) NO offensive line, and the worst OC in the Big Ten.

I forget which quarterback he said it to, but Bill Parcells used to tell his QBs if they didn't throw two picks in a game he'd be pissed at them.

Yep.  That was Phil Simms.

Would love to see DG behind a competent line......wonder which school he could transfer to, so we could see that.

Personally, I think there is a chance he leaves. Either to the NFL or to another school.  I think the back lash he got for poor play earlier in the year soured him on Michigan's fan base.  I think he has a lot of potential and would love to see him back and play in the bowl game.

Hey, wherever this kid can be successful so be it. He isn't getting what he needs here. Why not pull a Wilson? Did pretty good for himself. He, unlike most, realizes what his line is going to be next year, with his stud tackles leaving......would u blame him???

The only reason I want to see Morris under center in the bowl game is if Devin can't go due to injury.

If you read some of Devin's press conference statements, he talked about how denard handled criticism.  he also said things like "this week the fans are gonna love me."  Implying that in other weeks we didn't.   Not to mention the negative tweets and emails that he was getting.  So, scottsdale, I think there is plenty of evidence out there that Devin isn't thrilled with the michigan fan base

He may not be thrilled with the fan base but a) he's certainly not going to the NFL unless it's as a spectator and b) welcome to big boy major college football, where the stadiums are huge and half-filled with idiots who will love you on 2nd down and hate you come 3rd down.  Suck it up kid.  This is just football.  What are you going to do in real life?  Fold?

Would love to see DG behind a competent line.....

You did see it at the end of 2012.  75/126, 1,219 yards, 11TD/4INT; 101 yards on 48 carries and 7 TD.

18 TDs in 5 games, and he was the best player in the B1G last year after October.
