You know how many Ohio recruits chose Michigan over the years only because OSU never offered? Too many to count.

Hahaha sounds like my buddy who's going to UM for his ph D but is still an O$U fan. He bought a Michigan shirt before we went to the northwestern game and he goes "don't worry, it's just part of my disguise."

He'll get over it.

Tell ya what. Since you're so offended by Dawson's comments, why don't you take to twitter and give the young man a piece of your mind? I'm sure that will help to change his feelings about Michigan.

If I was a highly touted recruit, OSU would be one of the schools I would consider. If Michigan didn't offer me? I might go there. But with that said, I would never make the comment he made.

Ohio St.'s actions are not unlike their lower intestine: stinky and loaded with danger.

So, Scottsdale....How much was he misquoted.... one sentence, 2 sentences or is the whole article a lie?  Bottom line is, at some level he is an OSU fan and wanted to play for them.  I am sorry, I just don't like that.  I would prefer players that have always wanted to play for us.  These type of players are the first to transfer if they aren't getting the playing time the perceive they deserve. 
 
 
And if he was truly misquoted, where is the formal retraction in the news paper.  (Not some twitter post)

And MANY, MANY others. And this is not exclusive to just Michigan. How many kids in this country grow up a fan of one school and go play for another. 10,000 high school kids agreed to play with at a University yesterday and I guarantee not all of them grew up fans of that school but this is not about your heart, this is business.

Wouldn't be the first 18 yr old to say the wrong thing (if he indeed said it).  The bottom line is simple: he'll either end up being a good player for Michigan or he won't.  He'll play or he won't.  There are a ton of kids who have these same thoughts-they grow up loving one team but didn't get offered so they go somewhere else.  They still love their home team.  The better idea would be to keep it to yourself but in the end he'll either make it at Michigan and contribute or he won't.  If we're only going to sign kids who grew up loving Michigan, we wouldn't be able to field a punt team. 

 

Must admit to being embarrassed about allowing the media to influence my thoughts about Reon Dawson...but then, that's what happens when you deal with unethical journalism
