Remember Dee Hart? - Tuesday, November 15, 2011 2:26 PM

I post a lot on an SEC website because I use to live in Kentucky and I also follow Kentucky basketball very closely.  Noticed this thread and thought I would share the topic

Just rumors at the moment, but I've got a pretty good source telling me Dee Hart pulled a knife on Xavier Dickson.. thrashed some of his property and is probably going to be kicked off the team. Dee apparently accused him of breaking into cars and Xavier whooped him for it. Dee came back with a knife. Bummer.

------------------------------------------------

Dee Hart was not seen at practice today. After the heralded freshman was not at practice last Tuesday and Wednesday, Saban said Wednesday that the running back won't be at practice "until he gets some personal things that he needs to get taken care of. When he gets that resolved, he'll be back out there." Hart has not played this season because of July knee surgery.

Hmmmm....sounds like the door is still open for Dee to return......

Take if for what it's worth.  This was from the Bama area of the board with no links or anything.  But these guys usually know what's going on with their program before it becomes national news.

I was thinking about some recruits from the past few years that UM missed out on for one reason or another and found this:

I know UM doesn't often (rarely is probably better) take JUCO transfers, but it sounds like he has his head on straight now.  Wouldn't mind seeing him in a year if he can through Clearinghouse.
Hail to the Victors!

UM vs. the SEC:  23-6-1
Rest of the B10 vs. the SEC:  74-91-5
Enough said.

There are a lot of rumors swirling about Hart leaving Alabama for one reason for another. We`ll just have to wait to see. With Richardson leaving after this year I`m betting Saban will do anything possible to keep Dee around.

Sure would be nice not to have on the Bama roster when we play them next year.

Eh, probably the exact opposite of that...

With a young child at home, he's better off at one of the Florida schools, anyway.

From Dee's perspective I agree, hell he never should have gone to Bama anyway. Saban has no choice but to try to get him to stay. Even if he lands Barry Sanders Jr that won't be enough, especially considering how much Bama runs the ball.

I was wondering the same thing Edub?  I don't know what's worse, someone 5 starring a post about a player being injured or you getting 3 stars for questioning it?!

I don't care if he played us and chose to go to another school, I would never wish ill will on a kid because they chose to play somewhere other than Michigan.

GO BLUE!!!

The Alabama Athletic Department released the following statement on Monday afternoon:

"Dee Hart has not been a part of the football team since the bowl game and has not participated in any of the off season program. Hopefully he will learn from this mistake and continue to work toward completing his degree, which he is on track to do by the summer."

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Dee Hart was arrested by Tuscaloosa police Sunday for possession of marijuana and giving false information, according to reports.
Hart, who was poised to enter the coming season as a junior, hadn't been with the program since the Crimson Tide lost to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl in January.
"Dee Hart has not been a part of the football team since the bowl game and has not participated in any of the offseason program," the university said in a statement. "Hopefully he will learn from this mistake and continue to work toward completing his degree, which he is on track to do by the summer."
Hart carried 22 times for 78 yards and a touchdown last season. The former top-10 running back prospect never rose above third on the depth chart since signing with Alabama in 2011, despite being what coach Nick Saban described as one of the hardest-working players on the team.
"Dee Hart is one of the most competitive guys on our team," Saban said before the start of last season. "If we had everybody on our team that was as competitive as Dee Hart, we wouldn't be too worried about complacency, or being selfish, or accountability, or any of that stuff that we talk about and worry about all the time because we have success."
The Florida native's career at Alabama was slowed because of back-to-back ACL injuries, first in the summer of 2011 and then again in the fall of 2012. Saban tried Hart at cornerback last spring but ultimately moved him back to running back and special teams.
Hart is the second running back to leave Alabama since the close of the 2013 season. Former four-star prospect Alvin Kamara said recently he would transfer.
