Mags will start at LT, Glasgow at C and Braden at RT….the 2 guards spots are what seem to be up in the air going into fall camp and I'm guessing Bosch and Kalis nail those down.

Hoke said Glasgow will start at center...and Kulger and Miller will battle it out in fall practice for the Game 1 start. I have a sense it will be Miller just based off real game experience. But Kulger is a smart kid and has added strength this off-season. That said, Hoke will start Glasgow with the 1st team when camp gets under way. And I'm sure that's because he wants to get a 5 man unit in place sooner than later...2 weeks into camp, max.

Kalis better put his flute away this year and come to play big boy football...or I'm going to shove that thing right up his ass when I'm at the Big House this season.

Go Blue!!

Ohio St.'s actions are not unlike their lower intestine: stinky and loaded with danger.

Two deep something like this:
LT- Mags, Cole
LG- Bosch
C- Glasgow, Miller, Kugler
RG- Kalis
RT- Braden, Dawson
LTT- Tackle, Samuelson- Guard, Fox- Tackle, JBB- Tackle, Bars- Guard

Big battle for who the first guard off the bench is. Could move Glasgow to guard and play Miller/Kugler at center if one of the guards get injured.

Magnuson-Bosch-Glasgow-Kalis-Braden IMO and, hopefully, will get every chance to develop some real chemistry & cohesion.

Not totally sold on Miller, so hope Kugler is ready to make the position his, if necessary. Also, hope Kalis & Dawson are ready to live up to their billing. Any word on how Tulley-Tillman, Bars & Fox are progressing? It appears we have plenty of talent, competition & depth at the position but it won't mean a thing, if the OL doesn't make a huge improvement in 2014!

Really surprised that Magnuson is currently at guard and Cole is at tackle. Hopefully Cole is a once in a generation talent or this doesn't bode well.

FYI if you watched the press conference I had the last question about if he Hoke considered getting more practice away from the Big House.

How much do you guys think having 2 new guards(IIRC) and your starting center sitting out will effect UM's interior protection/run block play?

Our entire OL is a question mark. Last year the interior of the OL was awful and we are hoping another year in the weight room give them added push. Losing both our tackles to the NFL makes the edges a question mark too.

Most of us thought Magnuson would be at LT....but now it is showing him at LG and I am not sure anyone was expecting Cole to be anything but a backup (I am not sure if it is because Cole has been that impressive or that everyone just blows).

You misunderstood the theme of the post, which was that no one particularly noteworthy with be starting.

I expect the OL combinations to change quite frequently at the beginning this week and next week before solidifying itself 2 weeks before the season opener with 5 guys...at least I hope.

I want to be hopeful our OL will be better….but I should know better and won’t get rid of my uneasiness until I see it live. My initial thoughts from everything I’ve read is they still suck and don’t seem to have improved one bit from last season.

Pretty certain that what they are doing right now is trying Cole out to see if he can find a natural spot in the top 5, they already know Magnuson is going to play, so why not move Cole around and see if he fits the bill?  Supposedly will have things more nailed down next week if I'm reading the press conferences correctly...

He said that they had considered it and had done it in the past. Now here is where my jaw dropped- the last time they did it was before the Alabama game and he said it worked out well. GULP after the spanking Alabama gave Michigan I might be gun shy of practicing at Ford Field again too.

Brady Hoke

"I think the development (with what) that unit has done has been real positive," Hoke said. "A guy like Ben Braden from Rockford, right now, he’s our right tackle. And I’d expect him to be our right tackle on the (Aug. 30 against Appalachian State).

"But, you know, they've all improved and they've all gained vital experience. It's very competitive, but I think we're getting closer to being where we want to be."
