Thank god he didn't win the Heisman!  I mean, this whole bullsh!t story was half the reason he was even being considered as a Heisman hopeful to begin with?!  Dude has lost any respect I had for him...

In light of the recent developments, it would've been funny as hell if he had won the Heisman.

Gregg Doyel lowers the boom on Swarbrick.

He'll be denying this for a while and then eventually the truth will come out...and Te'o will be hosting a press conference admitting to being part of the hoax and asking for forgiveness.

There's a rumor floating around that Te'o's girlfriend was responsible for blocking Clowney on that hit.  That would explain everything.

Notre Dame is circling the wagons on the Manti Te'o not-really-dead-girlfriend hoax ... TMZ has learned the school has instructed staff to keep their mouths shut ... or else.

One person connected to the program tells us ... officials have warned staff, if they speak to the media about the scandal without permission from the University, they will "never work for Notre Dame again."

I'd say gullible if the story was as is being fed to us now.  But the narrative has changed since all the stories we got during the fall.

They met face to face they said....
She came to Hawaii many times to meet him says her dad....

In this day and age there is ZERO chance that an online relationship didn't include skype.    Hell I met my wife thru an online forum we both used and we were doing video chats before we decided to meet in person, and that was 12 years ago.....   Not that he was going to be a top 5 pick or anything, but this just cost him so much money.... I'd say justice will be served.

Get busted for drugs and your draft stock goes down.

Get arrested a couple times and your draft stock goes down.

Fabricate an entire story about a fake girlfriend and play it to the media to enhance your public persona to help win the Heisman and your draft stock goes unchanged.

crosscountry, the whole skype thing is a huge question mark for me as well, not to mention how everyone today (especially college students) has an iphone where facetime is even easier than skyping.  You expect me to believe this dude would spend hours every night on the phone with this so called love of his life and never think about wanting to see her with the ease that is available to do so thru skype or facetime?

More like:

Tank on your 40 time and your draft stock goes down.

Do poorly on the Wunderlick test and your draft stock goes down.

http://m.espn.go.com/ncf/story?storyId=8854472

While not saying that Manti Te'o participated in or knew about the hoax that his girlfriend did not exist, a former teammate told ESPN's Bob Holtzman on Wednesday that players knew that the woman wasn't really his girlfriend even though Te'o played that up as his tragic story was being told.

In September, the grandmother of Te'o died, and it was widely reported that his girlfriend died hours later. Media outlets pounced on the story as Notre Dame began their march to the title game. After Deadspin.com broke the hoax story, however, multiple media reports have said that players thought that Te'o had only met Lennay Kekua once and that it wasn't really accurate to call her his girlfriend. But as condolences poured in, Te'o "played along," according to the teammate, who wished to remain anonymous.

The teammate portrayed the move as part of the All-American's personality, telling ESPN that Te'o liked attention so much that he would sometimes point himself out to friends when he was on television.

Slowly but surely the stories will come out...

Don't shoot the messenger but ESPN Radio in MN said that maybe Te'o walks a little light in his loafers and this has been his coverup...
