Was anyone else at the basketball game last night? Jake Ryan was sitting with one or two other guys near the baseline, and I couldn't tell who the other guy was. To be honest, I've never seen Lewan without pads on, so I'm wondering if it was him. He led the band during one of the timeouts in the 2nd half. I wasn't close enough to get a pic of them. The crowd went nuts when they showed those guys- it was awesome.

Great news about Lewan coming back! His leadership and experience on the o-line is going to be invaluable in bringing along the youngins next year and will certainly make their transitions much smoother! johnny3435 Was anyone else at the basketball game last night? Yeah, it was hilarious when he was leading Hail to the Victors- the crowd went crazy. I hadn't been to Crisler in about 10 years- the atmosphere there was awesome, in spite of how poorly they played. McGary is fun to watch- that kid busts his hind end on every play. The "beat Ohio" chant near the end of the game was cool to hear, too!

Yeah, I heard that chant too! Hope they can get it done in C'bus and set the new standard for best start in school history. They matched the best start last night and a win over OSU on Sunday would break the record making a win even twice as sweet!
GO BLUE!!!

very surprised he is staying, but he could improve this upcoming year and instead of being mid first round could be a top 5. Although some may think hes stupid for not taking the money, don't forget a lot of these athletes buy an insurance policy if they do suffer a career ending injury.

The odds of a career ending injury for an offensive lineman are pretty slim. I doubt he's worried too much about that.

sircharles02 very surprised he is staying, but he could improve this upcoming year and instead of being mid first round could be a top 5. I think he is in for a big year. He mentioned in his presser how he changed his approach to preparing for the USC game by going over more film and approaching it like he was in the league. And his preparation showed as he got the better of Clowney who is considered by many to be the best pass rusher in the country. If he continues to take this approach going forward to next season and can get his fellow o-linemen to buy into this type of preparation as well, we could be in store for a pretty good year from our o-line! The one thing he needs to work on the most though is bottling up his emotions. He needs to cut down on the number of 15 yard penalties...
GO BLUE!!!

It's a risk coming back, no doubt about it. I`m thrilled he came back and will be there help out younger guys but he is putting his long term career at risk. That's something he appears to know and has accepted. Jake Long is the exception not the rule. Very few guys end up with the same draft stock after coming back, their stock either goes up or down and usually it's down. I do think Lewan has plenty of room to grow and get better but the odds of him improving his draft stock over top 10 where it is now are slim. NFL teams are much more likely to continue to invest in a player they picked in the top 10 of the first round vs. a mid round pick. Playing on an OL that's likely to struggle with 3 young guys in the middle likely won't help matters. Again I`m happy as can be that we're not having to find a new LT but Lewan is risking a ton.
