I'm afraid it could be true.  They finally found a coach who hates Michigan as much as Ohio State does plus he is (ugh) a good coach.

The #1 rated high school player in Michigan has signed with M$U in 4 of the last 5 years. Their on field performance and annual beating of Michigan has propelled them into a short term threat. Kids today live in the now, not 10+ years ago and M$U is reaping the benefits. With that said, a 10+ win season in 2014 and competing for (if not winning the B10) will silence that noise.

Go Blue!!

Ohio St.'s actions are not unlike their lower intestine: stinky and loaded with danger.

I just saw a blip on ESPN going over MSU top 10 recruits, and I swear 4-5 had to have been from Michigan. How many kids from Michigan did we get this year?

Agree with Scottsdale, but how likely is that to happen? A look at the roster, and a glance at the road schedule, suggests that 8 Ws is a max expectation. Reality could be worse. Starting all over in 2015.

What do you mean about starting all over in 2015?  New staff or what?

Sorry, it's an old-time expression that the vast majority of you probably haven't heard.    It means where one entity is becoming say the dominant force while the one who has been is no longer.

I guess my old age is showing.

I'm assuming based on recent results that this is a rhetorical question...But I'll answer anyway. No the worm isn't turning, its already done a complete 180 & is throwing a hell of a party in Spartan Stadium. As @Scottsdaleblue said M$U has gotten the #1 recruit 4 out of the last 5 years. More important is what's happening on the football field, M$U spanks us. Recruiting rankings don't mean squat, it's your record on the field that counts. Over the last 6 years (since this years recruiting class entered JR. high) the score is M$U 57 & 23 UM 41 & 35 with head to head going 5-1 in favor of the Spartans. If I were a high school blue chip recruit & wanted to win, I'd go to M$U over UM to. Sad but true.

All we've gotta do is beat them a couple years.

No one is choosing Michigan State Community College over Michigan if both programs are winning.

I think their D is admired by kids because it has an edge. We don't have that...

They're admired by kids because they have coaches that know how to develop talent.  However, the in-state recruiting battle doesn't overly concern me.  There have been some good in-state players over the years (obviously) but Michigan isn't exactly fertile territory.

I'm trying to think of the last 5* state of Michigan recruit that played lights.
