I remember back, pre 2007..... Back when the first 4 games of the year were an absolute SURE WIN. (Maybe with the exception of ND) back when we didn't think twice about IF we would beat a UCONN/Akron/Toledo etc etc...
Back when you looked at the schedule and knew that we would beat, handily, teams like Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and MSU.
Back when you only ever really "worried" about games vs Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin.
Nowadays, I'm nervous EVERY weekend, and this times when we play those weak teams we have to rely on luck to win many of those games. Our offense and defense look great at times...but never at the same time.
I am used to being better than that. I was raised knowing we ARE better than that.
I have come to expect more, I have always known that at Michigan, we DO expect more. We don't settle for mediocracy.
That's why I, personally, am so critical.

I can't speak for those of us that are more critical, other than for myself, but here is my personal feelings towards why I am so critical.
