"I think a lot of guys just lost the will to play as a family," he said, as the Sun Devil Stadium locker room emptied early this morning. "That's one thing you can't do in football. In football, you've got to stick in there and stay together as a family. That's something we've got to work on going into the offseason and spring ball and summer camp."

So basically we're bringing back a coach that the players quit on. This is wonderful.

MSC and Board of Trustees have a say on Brandon's job and thru him Hoke. Both are a very poor reflection on the University, you'd think the heat will get pretty hot soon as money and support begin to dry up.

They quit on Hoke long before this game.

So who do you guys want as a coach or who do you see as a realistic option as a new coach?

How can this quote go unnoticed??? Does Brandon really think this staff can pull the players together "like a family"? In turn, does MSC and the higher ups really believe in Brandon if he allows this staff to continue? This is by far the most telling quote for me as to why this team looked highly disinterested in many games this year. And coming from a player who has been with Hoke for 3 years is the most damning.

The team is tired of getting thrown under the boss all year, does anyone blame them for not supporting this staff?

I was at the game, row 8 on the 25 yard line. I was close enough to see facial expressions on the players on the sideline. From the very beginning it was obvious that Michigan's players were "not into it" (to use James Ross's words) as much as the KState players. There was no fire in their bellies, no was there in any of the coaches. Aside from Brady clapping his hands a few times, none of the coaches tried in any way to fire up the team. Bo would never have been so complacent. I honestly did not expect to win, but I did expect Michigan to put up a fight. I have watched Michigan under every coach back to Bump Elliott, and never have I never witnessed a Michigan team put up such a listless effort, even when totally outclassed in talent. It's true that some senior classes show more leadership than others, but Frank Clark is wrong when he says it's on the players. Individual players having a bad day is one thing, but when it spreads to the entire team there is a definite connection to the coaching.

There are some good comments...read thru a couple if time allows. Here's one...

The effort reminded me of the Miss. State game in RR's final season.

It was obvious Hoke lost this team a while ago but to actually see it and hear it from the players is really unbelievable.  There will be no recovering from this for Hoke.

I believe this is as close as you'll find to a player in college saying the staff needs to go without actually saying it. College coaches have a helluva lot more control over players than NFL coaches, so yeah Frank puts it on the players, but players don't just quit en masse on a coaching staff without the staff playing a huge role in that process and you sure as heck can't replace a whole roster of kids.

Just think how tired we got of hearing "we just didn't execute".  Now imagine the players listening to that sh** day in and day out.  Not real surprising that they're sick and tired of having a fat finger pointed in their faces.

Frank Clark is merely the 1st player to say what many of us have been saying for days, weeks, months, years in some cases. Brady Hoke & this staff are not capable of leading this program. They are in WAY over their heads & anyone with half a brain can see that. I would've liked to have seen the whole roster pull a Grambling & simply refuse to travel to the bowl game, it appears its going to take that big of a statement to get Dave Brandon's arrogant fat head out of the clouds & back to earth long enough to realize that this is a failed experiment. Hopefully he has enough sense to pack his bags & walk out with Hoke & Borges because they're all a bunch of ass clowns. I love Michigan football but I hate what it has become & the time for change is now, not later. Why suffer thru another season with this bunch of morons, look out 6-6 & another sh*t bowl game here we come!!!!

Rumors of kids transferring was just that, rumors. Green and Smith have vowed to come back stronger and better.

I had exactly the same thought watching the game. Good call.
