The "ideal" QB is realitive.
Eric Crouch, ideal QB for Nebraska?
Pat White, ideal QB for WVU?
Tommy Fraizer, ideal QB for Nebraska?
Antwaan Randall El, ideal QB for Indiana?
Micheal Vick, ideal QB for Va Tech?
I could go on but you get the point. The standard for what a QB is has changed. Yes a minimum level of passing ability is required to succeed at the QB position but other skills are becoming as, if not more important.
Forget highlights. Look at what Denard Robinson was asked to do relative to his production and the talent level around him. We're talking about a guy who made up 90% of our offense, was the focal point of opposing defenses, played with one legit NFL player, has his growth stunted in the middle of his career and still rewrote the record book at Michigan and nationally.
Did he always played perfectly, or win every game he played, nope. But then neither have any other QB we've had.
