Listen, let me try and explain a little something here.....U remember the "amazing hit" right? Hell, I understand he wanted payback for the phony 1st down, which I think everybody agrees was a trash call.......And, Im cool with the "karma" fumble on the next play too, I was kinda happy in a way, like we didnt really get something for nothing.........

But, explain to me, how he intentionally leads in with his helmet, into smiths, causing it to launch in the air over 5 feet, doesnt result in a personal foul penalty.......this is very important.

why?

Because the PF can not cause a fumble. Its a dead ball at that point, they dont get rewarded for a serious penalty like that.

So, If they wouldve and shouldve called that hit a PF, no fumble, and no long deep TD pass that resulted from that play.

It was a BIG, BIG, BIG no call, and if you watch the video and at the :25 mark, u cant see this, u  need new glasses, or eyeballs......I mean, our helmets are designed to be seen down field, u would think at least that part wouldve been seen by a ref. Jeez

And I dont care if anybody agrees with me or not, I really dont, because I know im right on this one.

I honestly don't see the leading with the head claim. It was brutal, violent, beautiful hit but as far as a personal foul I don't think it was that.

Just my opinion and I know I am not blind!

And Kansas City Chief scouts were saying, "Pleeeeeease let him leave school this year."
Even my wife was amazed by the hit. Asked me to rewind the DVR.

Can somebody explain how the rules about helmets goes though.  I thought the play was dead the sec a player loses his helmet.   If thats the case shouldn't it had just been a running play for a lose of 3 yards?  the helmet was in the air and he still had control of the ball.   Will just say.... Karma kills and we were owed some for those idiot refs on the 1st down call, what were those refs looking at?

Unfortunately that play is going to be the last image of that game....and it never should have happened. Still can't believe we left him unblocked!!!

I`ll tell you what, I`m tired of getting bludgeoned in these games. We continue to get just beaten up in these games. We can barely get QBs to the ground, meanwhile our guys get tossed around like rag dolls.

The thing that really bothers me is that I am already mourning the loss, but now I can't turn on SportsCenter or cruise the internet without hearing about that hit. Least we forget Clowney was pretty much held in check the ENTIRE game except for one hit and fumble.....Geez, and he get the MVP for that....BS!  Ace Sanders should have gotten the MVP.

(ass)Clowney made ONE play all game.  BFD.  Nice hit and legal as far as I can see.  It wasn't targeting-it was a text book tackle.  But that's all he did all day.  He showed up for ONE play. clap-clap-clap

No sh!t TK!!!  Lewan just saw his draft status rise significantly because he held Clowney in check for the most part.  I think he ended up with only 4 tackles?  WOW?!  And the dumbasses doing the game named him the Outback Bowl MVP to boot?!  WHAT?  He makes 4 tackles and one impact play the whole game and that warrants MVP?  Not their WR Ace who returned a punt for a td and had two td's receiving and nearly 100 yards receiving for the game?  That dude made MUCH more of an impact on the outcome of the game than that one hit by Clowney?!

The game turned on that play.  You could almost feel that SC was going to win after that!

The most annoying part of the game was Gruden and Tirico talking about Clowney the entire game. They couldn't get enough of him. Said countless times that "this is the best player in college football". Then Gruden kept talking about how Clowney will be a heisman candidate next year.

One of the announcers even called Michigan the Carolina Panthers at one point. I forget who.

Way to much being made of a big hit that was due to a completely whiffed blocking assignment. I mean which one of their guys couldn't have done the same with a free run...

Not really.  We got the ball back and drove down the field to re-take the lead and should have won the game then but the defense couldn't make a stop on USC's last possession.

Plus, techincally it should have been USC's ball anyways.  I have no clue what that ref was looking at when he looked at the chains?!

All in all, Clowney did nothing special.  He was completely unblocked due to a missed assignment by our o-line (big surprise there ).  Had he made that hit after fighting through a block, then we'd have something to talk about.  But he did what he should have done and what countless other d-linemen would have done in that same situation.

GO BLUE!!!

At this point, Clowney is pretty much going to have to end up being a star for the Green Bay Packers for me not to hate him forever. Sorry, that is just the way i roll. Terrell Buckley ALMOST got me to not hate him for what he did against Michigan in 1991, but he was not quite good enough as a Packer to get off my Most Hated Of All Time List.
So yeah, Clowney, as far as i am concerned you can either A) be a great star for the Packers, or B) completely and utterly FAIL not just at football, but everything else you ever do in life.

Both announcers said Clowney was the Player of the Game and flashed a graphic saying the same thing.  Maybe the MVP is different?  I dunno.  I guess at the end of the day who really gives a damn, eh?
