From your keyboard to the football Gods' ears!!

I've made my stance on this very clear. Hoke basically started from ground zero and had to start completely over. It takes time for those freshmen to grow in strength and in the mental aspect as well.

Whoa!  Let's not little things like objective data cloud our vision here, I've been told for weeks this team "isn't young" and that our coach couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag!  Nobody wants to discuss the veritable chasm in recruiting that preceded these last two lean seasons, the entirety of Michigan's problems from a program standpoint are with our head coach and offensive line coach!!!  /s

I've been beating this drum for weeks: the defense will be outstanding, full stop.  The offense is not going to be the type that runs over opponents, but I think it will be serviceable in the setting of an outstanding defense and a schedule that doesn't exactly see us having to run a gauntlet of outstanding defensive teams.  I happen to be one of those fools who thinks Hoke does in fact know how to coach a football team, so I mean grain of salt here, but I happen to agree with your assessment.

I'm sorry, Hoke & Co. could have 22 seniors on the field this year and I still wouldn't feel comfortable.  This staff has shown little to no ability to coach positional play so why would it matter?

We should be undefeated going into M$U. People talking 7-5/8-4 have not looked at the schedule. ND blows, and they have for awhile and now they *may* be without some starters. We are more talented than everyone on the schedule the first 7 games and the only one that's even close is ND. After that start we have IU, NW, and Maryland before O$U. I see no reason we can't win 10 games.

I think we're going to exceed popular expectations. The OL will be better (that's not saying much, but it literally cannot be worse), and I think the D is going to be aggressive like 2011 and lead this team. Our talent alone puts us in every game on the schedule and we have 2 of the top coordinators in all of CFB. It will take some time for the offense to gel and we may be in for some frustrating low-output performances, but if the defense can carry us early I think this could be the season that puts us on the trajectory we want to see. The talent is on campus now, and for once we're not relying on inexperienced players all across the field.

Go Blue!!

Ohio St.'s actions are not unlike their lower intestine: stinky and loaded with danger.

Spot on. If this is not the actual scenario that plays out, I will be firmly off the Hoke bus.

The problem is that you, and some others including Hoke, want recruiting circa 2008-2010 to serve as an excuse for the product on the field 2012-2016 (excluding 2011, which exists in some twilight dimension). While a case, albeit a weak one could be made for the 2012 and 2013 seasons, there is no basis in reality for assigning responsibility for the 2014 team on to anyone but Hoke and Co. You're crying over the 5% of guys recruited by the previous regime that have minimal impact on the current roster, while ignoring the 95% of guys recruited by the current staff that have the most impact.

Hoke's first half-class are seniors and you're still b*tching about Rich Rodriguez. How long are you going to beat that horse, 2020????

Bury your head in the sand all you want, fact remains Hoke walked into a program with numbers way off of where they should be in terms of position groups. He basically had zero O-Line, and contrary to what you keep screaming about you don't want to see OL until they are in their third year with the program, which we are finally seeing THIS year.

The past two season are a direct result of having no one on the roster ready to step into key positions on the team except young, inexperienced players.

The best part is you can scream, and whine, and cry aaaaaalllllllll you want but Hoke will still be the head coach next season. Thankfully we have an AD who understands the state if the program when Hoke came in and realizes you can't change something that bad in one season like you can on Xbox.

Except that's how Sweater Vest dominated the entire country and won a NC. Defense and punting.

No one gives a flying f**k about the past two season! The lines (plural) are a mess and we have few legit playmaking studs on either side of the ball. We all know it, the difference is who responsibility is placed on.

The off season is over, we're a week from the start of the season. It is THIS year.
