2014 Running Back Depth Chart Prediction with Poll Sunday, January 05, 2014 3:15 PM (permalink)

Michigan struggled to run the ball consistently during the 2013 campaign and will need to improve drastically to turn things around next season. Problems on the offensive line (nine players were rotated through the five starting positions) because of injuries and performance issues contributed to the problems in the running game. Running back Fitzgerald Toussaint, returning from a catastrophic leg injury that ended his 2012 season, also failed to regain top form.
Offensive coordinator Al Borges prefers to have one primary back, and withToussaint’s graduation the competition will be on among the returning backs.

Hard to say depending on Big Al's future.  If he's still here, I suspect Green will be given every opportunity to win the job.  If Al goes--leading to an extended period of celebration on this board and in every circle of Michigan fans--my guess is Smith is the starter as he seems to bring the most to the table, with Green getting plenty of touches in shirt yardage situations.

The 1,634 rushing yards as a team is a program worst since 1999, and the 2nd worst since 1967. That better change if Hoke wants go keep his job.

Go Blue!!

Ohio St.'s actions are not unlike their lower intestine: stinky and loaded with danger.

Not to mention that  Devin accounted for almost 30% of those yards. Our running backs had 1,065 yards combined (the remaining yardage came from wide receivers and Shane Morris, who had the longest run all year ).
