Since it's basically taking advantage of a loophole in the system, I think it's not unreasonable to close the loophole if someone tries to really use it. You change the definition of a punting formation and suddenly the ability to run that offense disappears.

I only watched the first series, but you sort of get an idea of why such an offense may not be such a good idea. The shorter the field, the less the gimmicky stuff works. Only after a couple losses of yardage was the offense afforded enough room to throw again.
The other big problem is that usually your QB is the most important part of your offense and he is going to get drilled...a lot.
I certainly see how a modified version of this offense would work a couple pays a game, but using it on every down would mean forcing throws in the red zone and/or settling for FG attempts.

They need a new editor. If you are going to try and sell something, make sure to take out the timeouts/non-plays and only put in the plays where the defense gets shredded...

start blitzing........only three guys blocking, can't block everybody......seems to gimmicky to me.

Apparently, there is an offense devised by some high school in California in which all 11 players are eligible. They use 2 quarterbacks and line up (up to) 6 receivers- only some are used for blocking purposes. Apparently, this offense has been reviewed by the NCAA and deemed legit (I guess Fresno State used a couple of these plays last year in their bowl game). The designers of the offense said that they've been contacted by 30-40 Division I schools in the offseason...I wonder if Rich was one of them?

I was wondering if anyone had caught this on yahoo last night. 2 quarterbacks and 11 eligible receivers, with 6 lining up wide in their base offense. Talk about a gimmick. What would Bo have to say about this?
