u can't call this a collapse,the media never considered him more thana filler. thats not my opinion of him as far as i am concerned he is the original tiger woods...when he was number 1 in the world all those weeks he was expected to win those majors now those u could call collapses. this past weekend was a chance for the old guard to show a flash of the old magic which he did, sunday was inevitable not because of age but because of the lack of interest in the sport he used to eat and breath day in and day out. now it's just a casual game to play when the mood strikes him. i still love to watch him play he always handled himself in defeat as gracious as he did in victory.

No failure for Norman at all. There's a hundred other guys that wish they could have 'failed' like Norman. 10 or 15 years ago? Definitely. At 53? No way. It's a great story.

I was for the Shark also but in those conditions it isn't easy.

With those type of weather conditions can you really say anyone fell apart. How many 3-6ft puts did we see not go in because of wind gusts? He is a part time player, and it was a nice story for 3 days, but I would not go out on a limb and say he choked.

Right. I thought that they shut down the TGA after Tiger went down for the year. Seriously though, I do not feel that the Shark chocked like his past collapses. It was a great story and I would have like to see him win, but like others said, he is a part time golfer and it was fun watching him out there just shooting some stick.

I really wanted the SHARK to pull this one out. He's pretty much the reason I started watching golf back in the early 90's.

It was a pretty unbelievable run for him to play as well as he did at age 53, beating out a world class field for 3 days inside a wind-tunnel.

So for me, no he didn't fail. Although he's had some legendary disappointments with Sunday leads in majors, this one was too unexpected to stack up with the rest.

He fell apart like he has always done. I would have liked to see him hang in there to make it interesting but after his bogey, bogey, bogey start I knew it was over. Harrington probably slept like a baby on Saturday night knowing that a 53-year old was his main competition, on top of being notorious for blowing leads in the final round.

Even though I have never been one of his fans I do not think you can consider it as a collapse. He is only a part time golfer now and thought he did pretty well under those conditions.

Unless you have been living in a cave for the past week, you know that Greg Norman was the headline at this years British Open. He was the third round leader by 2 shots and eventually lost to Paddy Harrington on Sunday.

Norman's collapses have been well chronicled in the past, but is this one the same?
