Well said. Turner is a perfect example of Jackson reversed. Turner plays in a posisition of need at Michigan and one that OSU is fairly well stockpiled at in CB. Likewise, Michigan is loaded at the slot and that is a definate position of need at OSU. So, for OSU, losing out to Turner wasn't that big of a loss and neither is Michigan losing out to Jackson.

And now with Michigan getting their targeted outside receiver in McNeal over the weekend, the loss of Jackson hurts even less.

They might not admit it, but a recruit saying he was a Mo C fan has to make tUOS fans shudder. As far as this being a big loss for Michigan, i did a search here and his name is hardly even mentioned here. I look at a lot of forums, and i havnt seen any talk of him, untill now, I did find an old thread at a MSU board about him, and those who saw him play were not impressed, They said he has straight line speed but lacked overall football abilties. They compared him to a track player who was trying to play footbal, and thought he wasn't good enough for the big 10......

WHAT?? even Sparty wasn't on him BIG ?? sorry but if Sparty who wants and thinks they deserve every good Michigan player, wasn't big on him, i just can't see this as a loss to Michigan....

He definately is a track guy. He runs the 200 and 400. He's currently only running the 400 due to a recurring hamstring problem. He's not doing the 200 right now because it's harder for him to get the burst out of the blocks.

Yeah it is ant thanks for pointing it out. And The ohio univesity's is by your silly comment..WE dont want someone who worships a CONVICTED felon. Might fit in nicely at tou though.

Jackson is from my backyard so I get to read and hear a little about him. He's been hurt a bit the past couple years so it's not clear exactly how good he is. True he is fast but on the field he hasn't proven much. Let him go to OSU. From todays local paper (Lansing State Journal) he grew up watching OSU and Mo C was his idol. Don't really need a kid with that role model at Michigan.

Michigan's CLASS is quite apparent here!!!

I've never seen Jackson play - all I have to go by are his recruiting rankings, his 40 time and his list of offers. Based on those data, he seemed like a pretty good recruit. I agree that there are more little fast guys out there and that it seems we have a fair number in the 08 class, but all this about his "hands" and "we don't want him at Michigan" 'cause he says he likes Maurice Clarrett is weird to me. There are only so many Rivals250 players that Michigan has a chance at getting and we just lost two. If anybody watches enough tape to know better than recruiting services, they are smarter than I.

No question losing Holloman hurts more. Losing Jackson only hurts because it was to UOS. Michigan's stockpiling WRs; McNeal will probably be announcing within a week.

I would have liked to have Holloman, but thats the way it goes, as for Jackson, it's no big loss as we are pretty well set at slot, he is a track runner, fast but doesnt have great moves and has suspect hands, and his stats from the last 2 years show that. RB and slot are the last 2 places of need for Michigan. I'd much rather have a big wideout then another small slot player. Lots more of these small fast players around, and RR has shown he can get them. We will get another 1 or 2 good recievers, i just hope there big wideouts, and we need some linemen, D line for sure is the # 1 need, and the hardest spot to fill.

Lost James Jackson (to OSU) and Devonte Holloman (to Clemson) on the same day. That smarts a bit.

Which hurts more? I dunno: From what I read, Holloman seemed like a M lean for a while, so it is more of a disappointment, though we have Bell and Turner, who may be a safety, in this class already. There are more guys like Jackson out there, but losing an in-state top 250 target to OSU hurts, too.

No matter how you look at it, OSU is shaping up to have one of the best recruiting classes I can remember. Certainly the best in the Big Ten in as long as I can remember.
