I don't think there is much we can do about having Adidas on the jersey versus Nike. I, personally, like the look of Adidas more than Nike. And really who are we kidding by complaining about the Nike logo or the Adidas logo? It is a jersey that serves the same purpose. It is like saying that you like the BMW logo more than the Mercedes logo. Splitting hairs in my opinion.

They look great, but how are they going to fit on the players? Like Phil said before, they don't have that tight-strecth material that Nike used, which I thought was genuis (makes it even harder to drag a man down by the jersey).

ORIGINAL: southernBLUE ORIGINAL: MaizeRageWolverine NICE! Thanks for the post. Those aren't bad at all. Were Nike's retail authentics $199.99 retail price? Check out this hooded sweatshirt they're also selling. I like it! http://www.football-fanshop.com/Michigan-Wolverines-Helmet-Hooded-Sweatshirt_1789135847_PD.html i kinda like that..i just wish it was all blue with maize logo and lettering
I like the color combo the way it is. Too much of our stuff is ALL blue. The wings on the hood are an AWESOME idea!! As far as the jerseys go.......I thought you had to have TV numbers on the arm/shoulder nowadays???

Fonzie - There are numbers on the sleeves - it just looks like a "M" in the picture, but you have to look really close to see the angle on the #1.
Regarding our military: "If you can't stand behind them, stand in front of them." RIP Bo. You were an amazing man; it is because of you, I am the Michigan fan I am today.

After looking at these a few times I am starting to like the little M on the back of the collar. It is hardly noticeable, but I don't think it takes away from the jersey at all. The only other thing that's different is the logo on the front of the collar. When they are playing on the field I don't think either change will be noticeable.

I HATE those rollerball yellow inserts/slashes on the sides. I blame the Denver Broncos & Miami Hurricanes for bringing that nasty trend to football!!!

I just got my copy of The Wolverine 2008 Preview magazine from Rivals, and it had an ad for the new road jerseys on the inside of the back cover. Though the picture only showed the top part of the jersey, it looked different from the one floating around with #55 on it. The material looked like a mesh, similar to the Nike ones last year and there was no adidas logo above the number. The one with 55 might be a practice jersey. On the ad, it said to buy the new authentic Adidas jerseys go to: www.umichigan.bncollege.com/adidas but that website is not available. If you go to umichigan.bncollege.com it is the Barnes and Noble website for Michigan, but does not have any jerseys.

Like Phil said before, they don't have that tight-strecth material that Nike used, which I thought was genuis (makes it even harder to drag a man down by the jersey). The fit will be fine. Adidas does have a similar material. The new jerseys are part of their Clima-Cool line, and are pretty cool. I got my hands on a Jerod Mayo Tennessee authentic from last year and compared it to the ones that we've worn for the past few years since the switch in 2005. Personally, I'm glad to get away from that Nike template. I was never a fan of the solid material on the top. I liked the mesh a little better. Adidas owns Reebok, so you'll see a lot of cross-over from their NFL Equipment technology. Our jerseys will be of comparable weight and fit to the NFL uniforms. I got some of our Clima-Cool workout gear and it's quite similar to the NFL Equipment performance wear I have from the Patriots.

The Adidas logo is blue and is under the collar, they just photoshopped it white because they placed the text of the ad there and wanted the focus on the Adidas logo on the tag. If you look under the piping, you'll see that's where the mesh starts. It's the standard Adidas template. If you look around the number 1, you'll see that they just photoshopped the mesh out because it fades in about an inch or two around the text. The template is identical to the home uniform.

Did the Mayo jersey you saw have patches or were the numbers on the jersey like our old authentics?

The Vols used to have sewn on numbers at home and the heavy screen on the road (similar to UM's Nike unis from 1995-2004 which were screen printed.) They now have sewn-on numbers on their whites as well. The M road jersey that I saw while ago had sewn-on numbers. The Women's Football Academy pic is not a game jersey.

The only thing that may be off is the top shoulder stripe on the back, the angle could be different on the new template.

Sorry, but the road unis I'm seeing here are beyond stupid looking. That piping is ridiculous-looks like a pair of pajamas from W. Virginia. The Adidas logo sucks because it's not just a logo (like the Nike 'swoosh'.) They have to spell out the name Adidas. Of course, that's being way too picky so who cares? The piping on the whites is definitely something I could live without.

The piping on the whites is definitely something I could live without. I agree with you about the logos. I don't get why they don't trust their brand is strong enough to just go with the 3 stripes. That would be solid. The old-school Adidas unis just said "adidas" on the shoulder. As for the WVU/Cal comparisons, they really are off a bit. It's not a WVU knock-off, it's pretty unique. On our unis, you can't really see the maize that much anyways. I could do without the piping on the back, but the side "slashes" and the front piping is OK by me. I think that the UM road design is pretty low-key. I'd have an issue if the piping was blue or had blue piping around the maize "slashes." I can deal with maize on white. Personally, I kinda dig that we have the ultra-traditional home uni, but the ability to experiment with the whites. I'm still pining for a return to white pants for some road games. Of course, they have to ditch the white socks completely and go with the high blue socks for home and road games. White socks=horrible.

We have a classic home uniform, so why can't we do the same for the road. PSU, ND, Bama, etc. all have solid white jerseys without stripes and they all have that great classic look to them.
