Great shot ef and it shoulda been called a 2 shot foul yet Sims needed to go up stronger with the ball as it was it just dribbled off the rim barely. S.O.B. I wanted this game BADLY!

What a great play, even though the outcome did not work out in their favor. I did not see the hold live as I almost jumped out of my pants anticipating that Sims would have no trouble getting that in. Does anybody else think that Sims had time to catch, land, and take the ball back up?

I defintely think he had time but his momentum was carrying him out of bounds. It was a tough loss, and I thought Draymond Green's foul was intentional with 3.5 seconds left. Sims was clearly behind him so he grabbed his jersey. In the rules that's a intentional foul. One thing I will say is our team looks like a bunch of little kids against MSU. All there gusy are huge and we play a bunch of scrawny kids. I noticed it the the most when Zach Gibson came in the game. There's a reason MSU basketball has been so dominate.

Conquering Hero Typical blown game by Michigan, but the refs hosed us bigtime on three calls in the last minute of the game. -Just over a minute left in the game after a horrible shot by Douglass, Novak makes a great diving play and clearly spikes the ball off a Spartan out of bounds. Ball is given to State. I thought so too, but I believe the shot clock went off. We shot the ball with about 6 seconds left on the clock and then some more seconds ran off the clock during the scramble. If we got the ball back, there may have only been a second left, but I'm pretty sure it ran out.

Such a heartbreaking loss. Beilein is now 0-3 against MSU including 2 losses in a row at home!! That is unacceptable!!! Even Amaker won his first home game against MSU in 2003. When will Michigan finally beat MSu at least once and make the NCAA tournament in the same season!!! How much longer do we have to wait for that to happen. Based on the recruiting between Michigan and MSU, I have no hope for anything to change anytime soon. What do you think? Will it take a super long time for Michigan just to beat MSU at home and make the NCAA tournament in the same season? When will Michigan basketball consistently go 1-1 against MSU and make the NCAA tournament every season? I'm not even asking for Michigan to be the better or even as good of a basketball program overall as MSU's. I am just asking to at least hold serve against them at home and make the NCAA tournament every year.

Shocking pessimistic email from Wolverine 24 Can we making a basketball coaching speculation thread so he stops coming in this forum too? That would be great.

MCWolverine Shocking pessimistic email from Wolverine 24 Can we making a basketball coaching speculation thread so he stops coming in this forum too? That would be great. I'm not ready to fire Beilein yet, but if at the conclusion of the season 2 years from now (2011-2012 season), he hasn't beaten MSU yet and doesn't make the NCAA tournament that season, then it would be time to fire him. That would give him a total of 5 years including seasons to get the program rolling which is a fair amount of time for a coach. Now had Beilein not made the NCAA tournament last season, then he would have to make it in 2010-2011 or get fired. But because he made it last season, he gets a 5th year to try and make it again and beat MSU at least once.

24, I will give you credit. Last week, it appeared you were ready to get rid of Beilein after the 2010-11 season should we not make the NCAA this year or next. Now, it looks like you are willing to give him a 5th year. BTW, I am not suggesting that Beilein get a lifetime pass for last year. We have, no doubt, underperformed this year but one could easily argue we exceeded expecations last year. There are things that Beilein does that leaves me scratching my head. I do not always understand his player rotations, for example. I was also disappointed with our shot selection down the stretch against MSU. Two airballs on threes when you are trying to protect a lead. Why not at least try to get the ball to the bucket and perhaps draw a foul? Is that the fault of coaching or the players. Likely both. We are not able to finish out games this year and that has left us with a disappointing 10-10 record. But, it is not like we are getting killed by good teams. In the long-term is being competitive with goods teams satisfactory? No. But, I still think Beilein has us on the right path. Only time will tell.

Once I saw that ball go up in the air toward Sims I thought for sure he was going to bury it and we were going to win.... Go Blue!!
The division between the Rich Rod supporters and the Rich Rod bashers/Carr supporters is amazing and has turned this place upside down.

Sims was held, but Sims pushed off. Good no call. It's the same in football. The ref isn't going to call pass interference with 3 seconds left unless he tackles the guy. Let the guys play. Really glad Martin locked Beilein up till 2014. ::Rolls Eyes:: Can Brandon start tomorrow?

Okay I'll bite: If it's a foul the first 39 minutes it's a foul the last 1.5 seconds screw this no call crap. Honestly Bighouse do you actually root for OUR teams or is your name really brutus? And I don't just mean buckeye I was thinking more of Ceasars "good friend".

Sims was held, yes. This would've been a much easier shot if he didn't fade like he was, had he just gone up and put his momentum towards the rim and not the corner of the backboard he doesn't make the angle off the glass that much harder. This loss sucks but hey, we know we can compete with the top teams in the country now we just gotta finish...FINISH!
