Put Things Into Perspective - Saturday, November 07, 2009 9:27 PM ( #1 )
Before many of you go out and slit your wrists, realize that this Purdue team made Ohio St. look a lot worse in their win over them. Purdue is not that bad a team, and as a matter of fact, I'm curious to find out when the last time Purdue beat both Ohio St. and Michigan in the same year.

So what happens IF Michigan beats Ohio St. on November 21? If RichRod out coaches and out classes the Buckeyes, will most of you ease up on him? Just curious.

I heard today it has been 40 years since Purdon't beat both OSU and UM in the same season.

They will ease up on him until his next loss.

Purdue last beat Michigan and OSU in 2000.  There is no "IF's" about 11/21.  There is no way in hell Michigan wins that football game.  You did see what they did to the Penn State team tonight that demolished us?  OSU would have to sleep through the game and I think they could even win then.  Both programs are headed in different directions:  OSU is going up and Michigan is falling down quickly.

Purdue was really Michigan's only realistic chance of becoming bowl eligible.  Wisky will win next week.  Our offense should be able to score points but our defense won't show up again.  That gives the edge to Wisky.  OSU is not a contest.  We lose by three or more scores.

I can't wait for these next two games.  I just hope that the players are as jacked up as I am when Saturday rolls around. It seems that the last few weeks have been awfully flat... ever since we lost to MSU in overtime, it seems that the magic disappeared.  I think it's about time that we found it again.  And I think it starts with some raw excitement and adrenaline as our boys come out against two good teams.  If we come out hungry, I don't see either of these teams being able to keep up with us.   GO Blue!

I just read Phrint,  and I think I'll prefer my Maize goggles just for a couple more weeks...  What do I have to lose?

There's absolutely no possible way Michigan beats Ohio State this year.  Half the kids on the roster probably don't even know Ohio State is our rival.

To answer your question Buckeye, the Rodriguez haters would be kissing his rear quarters IF Michigan were to pull off the upset and beat OSU.

But there are many of us that like him and are willing to give him time.

Not to mention the coaches.

Oregon is going to beat the dog s**** out of OSU in the Rose Bowl running the zone read spread offense.
OSU is going to get their teeth kicked in by Chip Kelly, who studied at the feet of RR.

The team really isnt that far away. Offensively, with what they have now, and what is coming in next year....they will be a monster. Defensively, there is a good nucleous for the dline. Just need a couple of players in the secondary and linebacking.

If the Buckeyes win next week, the Game against the Wolverines will not have any bearing on their BigTen Championship or their Post Season plans. With a win over reeling Iowa, Ohio State will have secured their 5th consecutive conference title and a trip to the Rose Bowl. Meanwhile, Michigan will be playing for a day after Christmas trip to Detroit to compete in something called the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl.

And another quarter will only be able to think about how cold it is on that day!
