Nice contribution W4life! Anyone who knows the whole Mike Hart story knows how much this guy bleeds the Maize and Blue. While a star in high school he got his team (Syracuse N.Y. area) to change their helmits to the Michigan colors. No doubt he would love to get the job one day. No doubt he would do everything he could to win. Just like during his years as a player here. If he proves himself one day at a lesser coaching job then our A.D. would be fool not to consider him highly.

Saw him a while back on the quad show on BTN and when asked his dream job he gave the same response. Seemed to kinda catch the others on there by surprise. Great goal to set for himself I think!

The division between the Rich Rod supporters and the Rich Rod bashers/Carr supporters is amazing and has turned this place upside down.

I'm not to sure If I'd like Hart as a Coach, of course as a college player he was amazing, but not everyone is cut out to be a head coach. I'm waiting to see his lesser jobs as an assistant first before I create an opinion

I loved Hart, but sometimes he got a mouth on him you just want to slap yourself in the forehead. If he calmed that bit down I'd be more then happy to see him take the position. But I also would like to see him coach a smaller school first before he took on the big daddy team. There is no doubt about it though, this boy bleeds maize and blue and thats why I gotta love him for ;)

I think he's willing and knows that there is a long road between now and becoming a head coach of a program like Michigan. He noted Ty Wheatley's progression so I think he knows that he's going to have to start at the bottom and prove himself while he works his way up. I have to say I sure as hell wouldn't doubt this young man! He's been proving people wrong his whole life as a football player. Why should we expect anything less in his pursuit of being the head coach at Michigan?

If I were you guys I would suggest he build his resume up just a bit! Being a passionate fan/alumnus/former player does not make a good coach.

Buckeye2002 If I were you guys I would suggest he build his resume up just a bit! Being a passionate fan/alumnus/former player does not make a good coach. Did you read the article? He said himself he knows he's going to have to pay his dues and work his way up the coaching ladder. I don't think anyone is naive enough to think that he can just waltz in here and charm everyone with his passion and charisma as a Michigan Man and walk straight into the head coaching position at Michigan?! That's why he contemplated retirement from the NFL was because he wanted to get his foot in the door with coaching which seems to be his true passion. Like I said, I for one am not going to doubt Mike Hart when he sets his mind to something. But, at the same time, that doesn't mean I think this is something that will happen overnight...

I absolutely love Mike Hart, both as a player and for all the charitable things that he has done for the U of M. I hate the term, but he's a 'Michigan Man' through and through. In a recent interview on the topic of signing day ( http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=wojciechowski_gene&id=4881412), he was quoted saying: "I just remember signing a piece of paper. I had already committed early. I already knew where I was going. As soon as Michigan offered, I knew I was going to Michigan. I more remember the day I committed than the signing day. The signing day was kind of like procedure to make it official. I had the big press conference. I didn't do the hat thing. It was Michigan, so I didn't want to put another hat on the table." He's a stand up guy and his mouth and bravado is part of what makes Mike...Mike. I think he would make an excellent coach.

He's got a mouth like Harbaugh, whom several on this board want as our next head coach some day. Go Blue!!
